We stayed two nights at Heritage Hill B & B while in Virginia for weekend concerts held at UVA. Charlottesville is only 30 minutes away from the property which itself was located only a few minutes from local restaurants and shopping.
Our room was clean with a king sized bed, full bathroom with tub and TV. There are a total of 3 rooms upstairs off of a large hallway. At one end there is a fridge for guest use as well as a cabinet that is home to a keurig, coffee, tea, small snacks, and related supplies. Downstairs is a living room with a large flat screen TV and comfy seating. There is an outdoor seating are and fire pit as well. Breakfast was served at 9:00 both mornings in the downstairs dining room where I was greeted with fresh local coffee, juice, homemade baked goods (cinnamon rolls and pumpkin coffee cake), and a fresh fruit plate. This was followed by a hot breakfast (quiche and eggs & bacon). The food was made better by the company of the other guests and the owners Dana and Scott.
In my opinion, Heritage Hill comfortably meets the expectations of a quaint, country bed and breakfast and sets a high standard other establishments of it's kind...
Read moreShorter version: Super comfortable room, excellent breakfast, wonderful host, and great location! Longer Version: We came out this way looking for somewhere nice and comfy to stay that was close enough for a quick drive to hiking in the national park and the wineries in Afton, but didn’t absolutely break our budget. Heritage Hill proved to be perfect! Our room was so comfortable, clean, and cool and it was easy to come and go as we pleased. Dana was the perfect hostess, even printing out my Shenandoah pass when I realized I had forgotten ours! She is also the breakfast QUEEN, everything was SO delicious and fresh, I’m worried any other breakfast may not live up to my new standard! We’re very happy with our stay here and will be highly recommending Heritage Hill to anyone who wants to visit the park and explore the...
Read moreWelcoming, attentive hosts. Very clean establishment. Delicious breakfasts. Bedrooms are upstairs. It's a wide stairway with a beautiful banister. We stayed in the Blue Room. Access to the high bed can be aided with a small step ladder, which is provided; the bed was super comfortable. The bedroom windows in this large suite overlook the yard and area, having an almost east/west orientation. The in-suite bathroom was spotless. The shower took a minute to warm up, but there was plenty of hot water. Conditioner, shampoo, and body wash was provided. There's a small refrigerator and microwave in the upstairs landing hallway for guests' use, as well as a keurig and other complementary offerings. This was a special place to spend our time when not out exploring the area. We will...
