If you are handicapped and have to have a wheelchair or electric cart or cannot walk without assistance do not stay in this place. We stayed there on the 10th after my husband had surgery and left on the 11th. If you are somebody in a electric cart or wheelchair or have to have any kind of assistance to walk the ramp is horrible had to get out so somebody could put my cart up on the sidewalk then I had to get out of it again and had to have help stepping up into the room because the rooms treshold was 2 ft tall . if you are a very big person which thank God none of us are you wouldn't be abe go to the bathroom or able take a shower. I couldn't take a shower because there was no safety rails or anything for me to hang on to my grandson and daughter almost fell. The people were very nice and well kept apologizing for the conditions and also they need to lower the rates cuz you don't have a microwave or not allowed to cook in the room you have a coffee pot and a refrigerator which works very well and a nice TV clean Linens but the handicap problem needs to be fixed or they need to put on their website that they do not have...
Read moreMy god, where do I start... This (Indian?) desk clerk kept acting paranoid, first over the phone and then in person over how many pets we had. My fiancé kept saying ONE dog, and the guy repeatedly looked over his shoulder. He asked, "no cats, other animals?". How many times do you have to tell someone there is ONE dog?! He then said there's a $100 fine if we get caught with other pets. Then he wanted my fiancé to make a $10 safety deposit, which we managed to talk our way out of. He finally shut up when we said we had a dog carrier for our golden retriever, and that she wouldn't make a mess. We get in the hotel room (114) and boy does it need major renovations. The walls were painted puke green, and had cracks, holes, and plaster patches all over them. The beds had granny colored bedding, and holes in them. I'm pretty sure I got the next morning's bite from the night before too. Bed bugs?! The bathroom is tiny with mildew on the shower curtains. The only reason we even went there was cause the other inns were full. Just...
Read moreLooked up budget and “Pet Friendly” hotels and found this one. The reviews were decent so we booked on our way to Weatherford. It’s an unassuming hotel, and in its heyday was probably the best place a traveler would find between OKC and Amarillo. But even with its aged facade and creaking doors it’s still a nice place to rest for the night. The rooms are very clean and “non-smoking” is actually non-smoking. Everything was neat and we felt safe. The parking lot was well lit. I was expecting the old hotel to smell like an old hotel but was pleasantly surprised. The bed (matress) was comfortable but I can’t rate the pillows because I travel with my own. The manager is a pleasant man; very friendly and nice to talk with; he was very helpful with directions to different eateries and the town’s museum. If you are on the road late and need a place to stop, try not to judge a book by its cover. The Travel Inn in Weatherford can provide a clean, safe, pet and budget friendly good...
