Last night was one of the worst experiences I had at a restaurant. It was my parents anniversary dinner that we reserved for 715. We showed up a little late but still weren’t seated until about 730-740. They didn’t have menus because we had to scan the few coasters they had (there were 13 of us including babies). The waitress took our appetizer and drink order quickly but offered us queso with the sampler which they apparently don’t have. When they brought the salsa and chips, I asked about the queso and the waitress said she’d be back to bring it. We told her we were ready to order and she said she’d be back to change that real quick. About 10 minutes later she tells me they don’t have queso but can offer us something else in exchange. We added more fried mushrooms but she rushed out and still didn’t take our entree order. When she finally came back with the mushrooms, we told her we needed to order because the children are very hungry and we were already finished with the appetizers. She finally took our orders and my brother in law ordered a second beer since the first one took so long to receive also. About 15 minutes later, the waitress informs us there are no ribs so 2 of us have to change our order. I’m not sure why it took that long to know that but she might not have even put the order in until just then. My sisters’ decided to go to the bar and get their own drinks since it was taking so long for even water. After about 30-45 minutes and the kids screaming, they came out with the side salads. The table who were seated 45 minutes after us received their salads at the same time. At this point, we asked for a manager. We had been there for almost 2 hours without any refills or care from our waitress. When the manager came out, she was just as rude as the waitress had been to us all night as well! She just told us that she would look at the time stamps of when the orders were placed but the big food order was taking a while. We explained that we asked to order several times and the waitress would wander off. She said she can just cancel the order and didn’t care at all about what we were saying. We got the ticket and the order was somehow $83 (we were also charged for the extra mushrooms that she was supposed to give us because she made a mistake). My sister paid and asked for some boxes for the uneaten salads. The waitress came back with the card quickly but stormed out for us to ask again about the boxes. She and another waitress were bussing a table and we had to go ask again for the boxes. She came back quickly but threw them on our table, as if we were the problem here. We gathered everyone up and leave. The manager and waitress had no apologies or concern. I’m beyond disgusted and disappointed for this establishment! My parents anniversary ended in us running to fast food to eat in the hotel finally at 10pm. I would give this place zero stars if that...
Read moreInteresting little diner with varied menu. We drove an hour out of our way to eat here on the recommendation of the OKC Visitors Center. Ordered the Cowboy Up Burger with fries and settled back to soak in the ambiance. Granted, it was early afternoon on Sunday and they were “busy”, but it took over fifty minutes for my burger to arrive. It was obvious that someone had messed up as the server apologized profusely for the long wait time, but by then I only wanted to fill my stomach. Alas, the sad-looking burger was cold (room temp at best), the grease coagulated on the meat… same with the fries. I waited another 5 minutes for the server to waddle by before I could tell her that my food wasn’t right, to which she apologized again, but apparently that was the extent of her problem resolution skills. No offer to replace it, or even warm it up. So I told her that it was unacceptable and that I wouldn’t be eating it. She asked if I wanted the check then, which I confirmed. An additional twelve minutes went by as I sat there waiting, ravenous by this time, regretting ever going there. I expected to have to pay for the soda that I’d sipped while waiting for my food, but when she finally did bring the check there was no adjustment for the inedible food that I’d been served. Disgusted, I went to the cashier and explained my predicament. The cashier said sweetly, “ I’m sorry, we do get busy on Sundays…”. Incredulous, I said, “So you’re actually going to charge me for a cold burger and fries?” Her response was, “I’m sorry, sir, that”l be $16.94.” It was rather embarrassing (and disappointing) to have to actually complain about the terrible food, service, and utter lack of any attempt to make it right. I was so flabbergasted i didn’t even have the presence of mind to ask for the manager. I blame myself for not making an even bigger issue of the situation, but the people waiting in the lobby near the cashier were already all staring open-mouthed at the scene that was unfolding in front of them. So I paid and left, at that point anxious only to get out of that bizarre experience. So, if you’re anxious to spend an hour for an overpriced cold burger and fries, then this is the...
Read moreI hadn't been here for awhile, so while driving through, I thought I'd bring my son and brother in. When you enter you can choose to go the steakhouse, the 50's diner or the bar. We went to the cozy looking steakhouse. There's been some changes since my last visit, not only with the souvenir cups but they also have 6 new Tesla charging stations in the back parking lot. We came at a good time, it was nice and quiet except for the country music softly coming through the speakers overhead, though we could still hold a conversation so it was good. They also have a lot of tv's on the walls showing sports channels and all of them were muted. Tyler was our waiter today and handed us menus that looked like newspapers. On the front cover, it told about the history of Lucille's and Route 66. I had also read that this diner was featured on the Discovery channel. All three of us ordered the Chicken Fried Steak meal, theirs with okra and salad for the sides and mine with mashed potatoes and salad. The house salad comes with baby tomatoes, some cucumber, cheese, red onion and what looked like dried cranberries. All three of us spent some time picking out all the dried fruit and my son took my cucumber. Other than that all the food was delicious and flavorful. The chicken fried steak was cooked perfectly and it was real, not like Jerry's, another restaurant in Weatherford. Though my son and I were quite full afterward, my brother went on to order a chocolate brownie sundae. It came in a huge bowl and was beautifully decorated with whipped cream, a chocolate syrup design, a cherry on top and 3 spoons. My brother ate all of it by himself! Tyler, our waiter was so attentive and made sure we were happy and satisfied. We then went to the restroom before our long drive home. The bathroom is also beautifully put together and there is a changing station inside. Before we left, we also checked out the small gift shop and made a couple purchases. They sell t-shirts, caps, spices, candy etc. By the time we left, I was ready to take a nap. This place is definitely worth checking out if you find yourself in...
