Southfleet Motor Inn — Hotel in Wellfleet

BEST MOTEL ON THE CAPE!!! This is a true gem. In short: great location, extremely clean, amazing and helpful staff, great value (one of the cheaper motels there is), and EXTRA amenities that really put it over the top (free bikes, fire pit, grill, playground, two pools). I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a budget stay on the cape. If you want more detail, I'm happy to explain: we booked this last minute and over the weekend, but it was still HALF the price of even the cheapest other motels on the outer cape, some of which I know from experience are way worse in quality. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful; we had an issue with getting cable on, and within a minute of calling the front desk, a staffer was at our room (with a mask on) and got us to the station we wanted immediately. Everything was extremely neat and clean - spotless even - and they truly care about keeping everyone safe and healthy during this pandemic. And the AMENITIES!!! They have free bikes and helmets for anyone to use, a sand playground with tetherball for kids, a fireplace with wood that they provide (the manager(?) even came out and gave us more wood when he saw we were running low), a covered seating area with a grill, an outdoor and indoor pool, and a sauna. I don't even know of a hotel with all of these things. Finally, location! This motel is directly across from Marconi Beach, one of the best on the Cape by far. It's also in between an amazing restaurant (Can Rensselear's) and a cheap pizza place and beach shop with floats/skimboards/etc. The Cape Cod Rail Trail is right across the street as well, which is especially convenient since the motel provides bikes to ride for free. We experienced very bad beach weather, so having access to these bikes was really nice. Downtown Wellfleet is a short drive away, and the lively Provincetown is about a 45-minute drive. Also nearby are the Truro Vineyard and Distillery, several mini-gold courses, hiking trails, and lots of restaurants, fr nice to cheap. I cannot compliment Kota, Alex and the staff at Southfleet enough for such a magnificent long weekend 6/19-22. Their service, cleanliness, attentiveness and helpfulness to our family and friends this past weekend was truly amazing. The Southfleet is the perfect place for a family to stay! We booked the entire motor inn to house the bridal party, family and friends for our daughter's wedding in Wellfleet. It's location cannot be beat! On either side are delicious restaurants that we easily walked to enjoy wonderful seafood and other lovely dishes for lunch and dinner, plus there's a bagel place beside to get breakfast each morning. Our rooms were maintained perfectly as was the outdoor grounds. The tent, picnic area, grill, and playground were perfect to accommodate our large crowd gatherings both day and night. And there's a firepit too! The pools indoor and outdoor plus the sauna and hot tub were very clean and lots of fun. Plus, Marconi Beach and the bike/pedestrian trails are just up the road. And, there's a Peter Pan bus that goes back and forth from Ptown to Hyannis which stops just in front of Southfleet! Growing up going to my grandmother's house in wellfleet was the best thing ever. When my grandmother sold her house she started bringing us here. This place has held so many special memories to me since the 90s. It's so special to me that I now get to go with my husband and our son. The owner's and their family have always been so nice and accommodating. Indoor heated pool, hot tub and outdoor pool. Playground for the kids. A fire pit that they supply for, tent area with seating, grill for cooking. Laundry machines on site. They also offer bikes you can ride into town on. Marconi beach is right across the street as well!! They're also sandwiched between 2 amazing restaurants. They usually do coffee and light breakfast in the AM but due to covid and understaffing this year it was just coffee. Which was still much appreciated! Our son ran out of milk and they were kind enough to give us a glass. This place is honestly the best. Pricing is great as always for families. Thank's for making us feel at home every time we come to visit for the past almost 30 years! My family can't wait...
