Lobster & Chowder House — Restaurant in Wellfleet

This place was the absolute worst!! We traveled from outside the area and thought the menu sounded good. We are very unsure how it has such the review that it does. We had 5 adults and 7 kids, seated at two tables with 2 waitresses. The waitresses were completely overwhelmed and couldn't keep anything straight. We recieved things we didn't order, missing things we did order and what we did recieve was underdone and not good at all. Pretty bad when you mess up kids grilled cheese. After receiving a captains platter that was missing all the clams and calamari, it came out 10 min later and was all undercooked. When the check came and there was no credit on our bill,we asked to speak with the manager. He came over after about 15 min waving his hands in the air, telling us they never have these problems. When I tried to tell him we had multiple other issues we were not even going to mention he turned around and walked away. OK, we had a large group of people that visited this location several times over the course of the week. EVERYONE absolutely loved it.

The staff is so polite and accommodating. Everyone I spoke with there were full on about making this an ultimate experience; from the owner across the board. Their recommendations are spot on.

Of all the restaurants within driving distance to Eastham; we chose this one as our group family dinner at the end of the week. Lobster Salad Roll, Ruben, Grilled Cheese, Lobstercado; all FANTASTIC.

We had a small misunderstanding on our order, and they not only took care of the issue, but they went above and beyond to assure we were happy with the experience. I can not thank them enough for all they did for us.

Ordered take out on the recommendation of a local friend. This small Instagramable restaurant is located right off route 6 in Wellfleet.

Expedient service, easy online ordering, and no-nonsense pickup experience.

Skip: the chowder. It comes from a bag. Bland flavor and weird texture. (Our favorite chowder in Wellfleet is, surprisingly, at the Beachcomber, followed by Mac's.)

Loved: the tuna sashimi appetizer. Fresh, delicious, great portion and solid value.

Liked: cod au gratin -- perhaps au gratin is a misnomer though. Wasn't evoking the cheesiness of potatoes au gratin, but it worked all the same. Seasonal vegetables were perfectly cooked. lobster egg rolls -- crunchy and loaded with lobster meat. lobster ravioli -- bechamel sauce and bread crumbs crunch really made this memorable. More like an adult lobster mac & cheese.
