Desert Motel — Hotel in Wellton

Don't let the mostly dirt and stone parking lot and the fact that there are no on-site 24-hour personnel fool you. This is a pretty good motel. I was given the chance to inspect the room before completing the check-in process and I was impressed. Large and clean room. Everything in working order. High ceiling and white concrete block walls. Nothing really shabby here. There was an older style television but I was mildly surprised at getting a good wifi signal. Very comfortable beds. The motel is all non-smoking rooms so you didn't see any cigarette burns on the furniture. The room that I got didn't have a toaster oven or a coffee maker but it did have a microwave and mini-fridge. Not too sure there is a mention of a restaurant. This was a very welcome find while enjoying the beauty of the Goldwater Range, eliminating a needless hour drive back to Yuma. Room was adequate, if not well-loved. AC worked well, water pressure in the shower was also very nice. The courtyard was lovely, and they even have a bbq you can use if you like.

There was no shampoo in the room, and though I didn't ask at the front desk if they had any, I thought it would be a reasonable addition with the middle of the road price.

All in all, A nice "mom and pop" motel that I'll likely visit again when my travels bring me...

Ok, so I had recently wrote a review about this hotel that was not very favorable. The owner of the hotel reached out personally to me to inform me that he was being very proactive to implement changes to make the hotel better. The hotel is under new ownership and I believe that he is truly wanting the customers to have a good experience. After, this conversation I feel confident that he will follow through.
