BEFORE YOU BOOK:
I hope you all are reading the poor reviews that way you can be prepared for your accommodations. I’m very disheartened that we drove from Florida expecting a fun relaxing glamping experience only to have been mislead.
In short: The road conditions are moderate to poor Parking is VERY limited and difficult. Porta potty/shower trailer is subpar There is no where to cook There is no where to throw away trash There IS NO DRINKING WATER Potential hazards
Overall, be prepared to pay around $150 a night to live more inconveniently and in many ways more primitively than at basic state park campground. We didn’t know how limited the amenities would be so we were ill prepared. We were truly expecting a “glamping” site that offered pseudo outdoor camping with hassle free amenities. This place has so much potential but with the lack of transparency on what this place does not offer and the safety concerns of the property, I don’t believe I can trust this company enough to try to book with them in the future.
In detail: The road to access your tent is only wide enough for one vehicle and it is lined with thorny brush, trees, fallen limbs, and some rocks. Turning around or encountering someone going the opposite direction is a nightmare. There isn’t enough space for parking in front of each camp site and over flow parking is limited and can be far away depending on your site. There is definitely not enough parking for this place at full capacity.
There are appear to be around 20 camp site which all share a 2 toilet only bathrooms, and 3 toilet and shower bathrooms. One of the showers is currently broken so we are sharing 2 showers with the whole camp. Needless to say it’s an inconvenient wait. The porta potty toilets are standard but the shower requires you to continuously pull a short overhead chain to keep the water running (probably not possible if you have and should injury preventing an over head reach). The bathroom floors get wet and dirty and the small toilet seat is the only place to set down your things. This in combination with low water pressure and low water heat leads you to seriously debate whether a shower is actually worth it even after a long sweaty day.
Although the website advertised running water, it does not specify that it IS NOT drinking water, it’s the porta potty shower and sink water.
There isn’t enough space around the tents to set up a cooking area. There is a community picnic area that offers tables and a fire pit. There are no grills and the tables are just far enough away from parking that it makes toting portable propane cooking set up, a hassle. If you do manage to cook, there is no where to do dishes or clean up. When we asked the host about rinsing a cooler, we were directed to the porta potty showers. It’s near impossible to pull the overhead chain and clean dish ware. We’ve tried. We it was so frustrating that we debated throwing the dishes out can calling it a loss but there are also no trash cans or Anywhere to dispose of garbage so you have to pack it back up in your car to haul off. Even using disposable ware and eating no cook foods is inconvenient.
Lastly, there is active construction with raw supplies laying about very close to the common areas. None of them are closed off or marked making it hazardous especially to children and walking...
Read moreBeware of this company it also operates under staytreetops glacier we arrived for an early check-in because they said that the cabin was already ready and when we arrived, it took them two more hours to get the cabin ready. The cabin was not what we reserved. We reserve reserved a A-frame as advertised on their website and we got a cabin that was still under heavy construction in the big house. We tried finding somewhere else, but we were booked for five days and could not find nothing so we had no choice to stay here during this time we encountered problems every single day, day one family came in above us, screaming kids and up late every footstep we could hear day two started smelling sewer smell at 11 PM day three they called the plumber out to fix that when we came back to get a nap in over three hours of jackhammering and we could not sleep was told the family above us was checking out and then another family moved in we hardly got no sleep for days several times we came back to construction workers in our room, unannounced with our belongings and valuable still there when we reported this to the host she said it’s because the panel box is in our room|After one day coming back from hiking in glacier, we came back to no AC in our room. We had no control over the AC because the thermostat was not in our room for us to control every day, we found multiple spiders on one occasion I went into the bathroom and I counted seven spiders one night at 4 AM. My fiancé woke up screaming because a bug was crawling on her she does have a red mark on her chest but not sure if it was an insect bite or spider or something else we were supposed to have a kitchenette, but did not have nothing. This is a total bait and switch. I would highly recommend not booking with them. We feel like we were scammed. We were promised 50% off but for what we went through we should be refunded fully This place is very unsafe for anyone to stay in and the host Lindsey is a liar about what we booked on the website the big cabin is not even an option and she said this is what we booked we would of never booked if we would of known this I’m sure if we would of gotten the A frame this would of been a totally different outcome we are just trying to prevent some other people going through this and there was another couple there from Texas that said the same thing and they left. They were only staying one day they felt they were scammed as well, She is advertising this on instagram as they only rent this out for...
Read moreThe name of this place should be changed from Wander Camp to Wonder Camp, because you’ll wonder why you ever decided to stay here! Don’t be deceived by the romanticism of the misleading “glamping” photos on their website. Almost everything about our stay here was NOT what was advertised on their website. We were deceived! ||When we arrived, the tent we were given had a broken zipper and wouldn’t close. We were then given a different tent, which also had a broken zipper, but we were able to jimmy it to close most of the way. The tents were set on uneven dirt patches, so nothing was level. (Most of the other glamping places we’ve seen before put the tents on wooden platforms to be level.) We had to rearrange the furniture inside to get it level enough so we didn’t slide out of bed. One night it rained and the tent flooded. There were big puddles all over the floor, and everything we had got soaked! We had our luggage on the floor since there were no luggage racks or benches, so a lot of our stuff got completely ruined. We had to throw away brand new books as they were unsalvageable from water damage. The solar lights they provided didn’t work at all. Thankfully we had headlamps and flashlights with us. The bathrooms were just small stalls on a trailer, with RV style toilets. The water on the property was non potable, so we could even get a drink, or brush our teeth safely! In the showers the water would go from ice cold to scalding hot, with no in between. To keep the water on you had to hold down a chain while showering. The “campfire area” was not close to the tents, and was so overgrown with grass and weeds. There were no picnics tables anywhere on the grounds, and nowhere to cook on our camp stove or wash dishes. Parking was inadequate; there were not enough spaces for guests to park in front t of their tents. This place was not just a bad experience for us, but for some of the other people we chatted with who were also staying there. They too had felt very deceived by the website.||The only nice thing about our stay was that the bed was comfortable. But you can’t just put a bed with pretty pillows in a big tent and call it “glamping” without things being in good repair and having other nice amenities. ||Find somewhere else to stay! You’ll be very glad you did! ||This was at the Glacier, Montana location. We can’t speak to other Wander Camp locations, but please do some serious research before booking at any of them, as they all share the...
