This is the essence of emails that I sent to the owner, Jason Gilseth, after our stay 7/17/24 to 7/19/24 I do not believe the "house" is worth $495 a night for what I wrongly assumed was your “best cabin". I thought I was getting a truly wonderful/luxurious experience in your rustic cabin/house. The house is more like Very Outdated Rustic. I am VERY disappointed in the house and your service (including not responding to my emails after you cashed my check). These are my reasons: 1. We did not have the designated WiFi connection on Day 1. 2. The fan in the bathroom is very loud, maybe a bearing issue. (Video available) 3. The bathroom shower/tub was great in 1990's when it was probably installed, but the gold plating is tarnished and the sliding shower doors are difficult/heavy to move. (Photos attached) 4. As there is no A/C (as advertised), there are also NO floor fans to mitigate the warm temperatures (in the summer) in the great room and/or 2nd bedroom. Also wondering where are the window screens to keep unwanted mosquitoes out? 5. There is a dedicated room for a washer/dryer, but no washer/dryer (again paying $495 a night ala an Airbnb) 6. A general lack of 2024 electronic connections/outlets. One floor outlet on the master bedroom doesn't work. Also, the floor outlet by the dining table only works if I shim my plug-in to stand upright. 7. No wine glasses in the kitchen, nor wine opener. 8. Only 3 hangers in the 2nd bedroom on a rack that is very high, against a wall that needs painting. 9. Each of the dated mini blinds are very difficult to move downward as the wands no longer work. 10. All 4 dining room chairs' upholstery are dated, full of small holes and need to be replaced. (Photo attached) 11. The wood porch entryway needs painting. (Photo attached) 12. My wife emptied the dishwasher vs housekeeping? 13. The ceiling fan lights would not work until I stood on a dining chair and pulled the cord. And then the light switch magically worked. If I was spending $200 a night, these grievances might be 1/2-way understood given the location. But add all this up, at $495 a night ($1,000 for 2 days), I and anyone else should expect MUCH, better! There was a serious lack of care and/or attention to detail. At age 68, we have stayed in numerous Airbnb’s worldwide and proudly have a 10/10 guest rating. Yes, your longtime desk employee, Donna, is delightful. The free morning coffee, fruit, muffins are nice (more so if we had known about them when we checked-in). Location is nice. Nonetheless, I feel so ripped off after spending $1,000 for 2 nights.

Terrible. Just terrible. We showed up expecting "a charming top quality deluxe real log chalet" like the website says. What we got was a dirty, poorly maintained, ugly, uncomfortable and unsafe room - but at the same rate as those paying for the “charming” cabins. Obviously, there are no other available options in a tourist area, so we had no choice but to stay. Check out my pics and you will see why we hated every minute of it. 1. All the windows were covered in mini blinds that were filthy, barely functional and not really private. 2. The door lock was worthless and when you pulled on the door it opened despite being "locked." There was no deadbolt. 3. The stench of bug killer never dissipated despite leaving the windows open the entire time we were not in the room. 4. The bug killer did not eliminate all the live bugs. 5. The baseboards were littered with dead bugs. 6. Layers of dust covered the lamp, the thermostat, the TV, the window tracks, etc. 7. One lamp shade had obvious water damage. 8. There was a very, very weird window at floor level full of dead spiders and bugs. 9. Breakfast was pathetic – granola bars and cereal, juice, milk and coffee so bad that it could only have been sitting in the carafe all night. 10. Due to the disgusting coffee, I decided to make a pot in our room. The carafe was full of mold. 11. The cable tv quit working night 2 of our 2 night stay. 12. The bathroom sink featured a nasty, half used bottle of dial soap. 12. The bed was so soft that it sank 1 foot when anyone sat on it or got into it. The tip jar on the table could only have been a joke. Needless to say, we were ripped off. If you are going to choose to stay here MAKE SURE you are reserving an ACTUAL CABIN and not whatever they call the room we were assigned. Be prepared for filth and bugs. Don’t expect much for ‘breakfast.’

We booked a cabin but ended up getting in a room off the main house. Nothing log at all and overall disappointing. The bed was terrible, and tacky decor. Found a spider in the shower in the morning that probably walked in through the flimsy door. No blackout curtains, just metal blinds. The lady at check in was very sweet! She is the only reason I didn’t do 1 star service. Breakfast is 7:30-10 so no review because we were up and gone at 6. The advertised photo did not match our stay at all.
