Quite a scenic and serene stop over for one who stays a few nights, extended stays are a different matter. Be prepared to have your privacy intruded upon by the owner, a micro managing tyrant who recently had a state of art surveillance system installed despite no incidents of break ins or vandalism to my knowledge, in fact it’s quite safe in that respect. So if you are okay with being monitored both visually and audibly then you’ll fit right in. On a note of positivity the entire staff are friendly and most helpful, this despite a steady diet of brow beating to their credit remain loyal to the seemingly jovial rotund owner baring a resemblance to friar Tuck of Robin Hood lore. But behind that facade lurks a man who despite having plenty of nickles to rub together which one would think would be allocated for desperately needed repairs to the site overall, instead the rob from the rich but not give back in return analogy is a fair assessment. I’m fairly certain that the founding patriarch and his vision of an atmosphere of traditional values, respect and hospitality have fallen woefully short in continuing his legacy. My veracity certainly should be open to question therefore read the testimonials offered by others, one in particular by Gayle Gipson who offers a similar critique echoing that which i have proffered and draw your...
Read moreSherwood Harbor Marina and RV Park is a HORRIBLE place to vacation or live. It is on a pretty spot along the Sacramento River.
HOWEVER! It’s infrastructure is sub-par. It is dirty and poorly kept. The electrical system is outdated and may harm your RV. There are not full hook-ups so you will need to dump your tanks in one of two designated areas which are often not easily accessible. The driveways down to the park are unsafe. One of which should be closed due to poor condition and is in dire need of repair. The parking area is a cluster of vehicles with an inadequate number of stalls. One is not allowed to park a vehicle next to their RV spot. This park is very OVERPRICED especially considering the ragged condition.
The other huge problem is the person named “Jim” who refers to himself as the owner. He is a misogynist. The statements he made towards me during my stay were offensive and lacked respect towards women. He is clearly threatened by confident and independent women (based on several conversations). He is a micromanager and treats his staff poorly (who are mostly women).
The women in the office are very kind and make attempts to be accommodating. I enjoyed meeting them and hope they will find better jobs in the future. They deserve better treatment in the workplace.
Avoid this place. It’s a dump. Do not waste your...
Read moreWe needed a short-term place to stay after selling our house, retiring, and regrouping before we went full-time. We stayed from early February to mid-May. After looking at all Sacramento rv parks (no thanks), we were lucky to find this gem. I cannot speak highly enough of what this park gave us in terms of peace and quiet, beautiful views, and Lovely staff. I highly recommend this park. We still have family in Sacramento and will only stay here-if we’re lucky enough to get a space. I found the laundry room just fine-not fancy-did the job! I didn’t use the restrooms, so can’t speak to that. We stayed in the upper campground with several long-term people like us. Parking for upper campground could be a little tight at times. I would have loved the lower campground as it was well shaded and beautiful, but they didn’t have individual septic, just the dump stations, which would have been fine for short-term. Perhaps a repaving/grading of the entry to the campground would be nice as we heard a few bumpers scrape (including ours) but I’m sure they’ve considered these things as well. Thank you Jim, Mario, Dianna, and Shannon (?) and others I didn’t catch...
