Stayed here for Westport's Lobsterfest in Sept. 2018 and again in 2023. Ended up with same room both times (#212). Ample windows, view ok but better than expected (had been warned that it wasn't a room with view to the water but the backside windows actually do face the water). Room could use an update but I like it fine. Decor is old and comfy. Bed is comfy and much better than the Sonesta bed I had the night prior. Newer large flatscreen TV worked (that seems to be a plus these days). A major drawback to note: They absolutely need to update the shower. Shower curtains are for roach motels and a 3-knob system to operate the water temp/shower...be sure to get the slight twist of the hot water knob just right to avoid freezing or scalding. This is what needs to be fixed ASAP. Front desk staff are efficient and professional but don't expect overt friendliness. They are very candid that the Inn caters to event guests and there can be noise up to 11:30 PM on nights events are booked. There were large weddings both years I stayed and I did not find this to be a problem. The new onsite LaPlage restaurant has a good vibe, excellent bartender and a great specialty dessert martini someone appeared to have made up on the spot. (Shout out to the bartender for not acting aloof or too cool for school (also a trend I've been noticing). He was very good and I regret not noting his nametag, as my receipt didn't specify Server. A Black man somewhere between 32 - 39. Appreciated his attentiveness and recommendations as part of my end-of-night experience. Did not eat dinner there but sat at bar for over an hour around 9:30 PM on a Saturday. Breakfast was fine. I've seen some complaints. Yes, the cold cereal selection could be better (feel like it was in 2018) and they could add a more inspired deli meats/cheeses tray. But overall I think it's fine. A typical range of coffees/teas, bagels/breads, yogurt, HB eggs, cereal, OJ, etc. It's not a hot breakfast, people. Weekend brunch at LaPlage starts at 11. The Inn isn't going to provide an all-inclusive 5 star breakfast when they have a full-service restaurant onsite. I will be back next year. There could be better hotels in neighboring towns but I...
Read moreLongshore did an absolutely amazing job with our wedding. From the start out wedding coordinator, Kristen, was a pleasure to work with. She was so responsive- sometimes even responding to our questions within the hour. Her advice was always so knowledgeable and helpful. She was so detail oriented and reliable.
During off-peak wedding season, they host a tasting for many couples at a time. The tasting was awesome as we got to get a feel for a wedding at longshore and got to try many of their dishes.
For our entrees we ended up choosing the grouper, ny strip steak, and gnocchi primavera. For our cocktail hour we chose the duck, lobster rolls, spicy tuna tartare, beef profiteroles, brie and truffle mini grilled cheese, chilled jumbo shrimp cocktail, crab cakes, and pulled pork sliders. All of them were delicious. The cocktail hour also included the pizza station. We chose the crispy goat cheese salad as our first course which was delicious and the tiramisu for our dessert which was also delicious. My guests and I could honestly not get over how good the food was! I had guests approaching me during the wedding complimenting how delicious their entrees were and then talking about how great the food was the week after. Unsurprisingly the pizza station was also a huge hit. We were able to have our cocktail hour outside and the pizza oven was a great touch.
The service during the wedding was top notch. Our coordinator Kristen kept offering to bring me our signature cocktails and noticed it was hard for the groom and I to grab a bite during cocktail hour due to all the photos / mingling so she brought us a designated platter of all the appetizers for just the two of us. When my mother in law made a comment that it was chilly on the patio due to wind the staff immediately brought over heat lamps. The bartending staff and waitstaff were also great.
Could not recommend Longshore and our awesome coordinator,...
Read moreLaina and the whole staff at The Inn at Longshore truly made my wedding day perfect. From my initial meeting with Christine, my experience was top-notch. Our wedding coordinator, Laina, was so responsive, even answering emails late at night! She was also very honest and gave me great recommendations as I planned the big day. I did all the planning myself, so having a coordinator included as part of the experience was a game changer. Laina was so kind and laid back, which helped keep me calm throughout the planning process. The tasting we attended was TO DIE FOR! The staff did a wonderful job making a romantic and fun dinner, even with all the Covid restrictions. Everyone was so flexible with us as details changed with the pandemic. On the day of the wedding, the staff was super responsive and helpful. They had ice, water, coffee, and tea waiting for us as we got ready. They managed all the different vendors as they arrived, so all I had to do was focus on getting ready and enjoying the big day. We got lucky with the weather and were able to have our ceremony and cocktail hour outside. The location is simply STUNNING. I never imagined I’d be able to get married in such a gorgeous setting. The cocktail hour was incredible - my guests are still talking about it being the best they have ever attended! The wood fired pizza station is INCLUDED and delicious! Our signature drinks were also delicious and refreshing - perfect for an early evening in July. Once inside for the reception, the staff had extra food for our bridal party while everyone was seated - they made sure we were well fed and had drinks all day and night. The service during the reception was outstanding and the ballroom was GORGEOUS. I can’t say enough good things about Laina and everyone at The Longshore who made our day truly picture perfect! I am sad it’s over! I wouldn’t change a thing! Thank you from the bottom...
