Good: The bed was comfortable, and the area was quiet. The hotel was almost empty, so that helps the peace and quiet. The room was old strip motel style. The cleaning crew did an excellent job every day. ||Bad: The toilet was original equipment, really low to the ground, difficult for an old guy to sit on, and it was not bolted down, so it rocked on an uneven floor. There was an extra valve on the shower head, because the regular valves leaked. I sleep with a CPAP, and the receptacle by the bed was worn out and the plug just fell out of it.||Ugly: I booked 5 nights, and at 9 AM in the morning, asked if I could could check out a day early. He told me that I could, but he could not give a refund for the last day because he had to turn down two requests for that room. This was for Sunday night, not typically a busy night. The most vehicles I had seen in the parking lot was about 5, and it looks like they have 23 rooms. If this is the policy, fine, I get it. My fault for the late cancellation. But...
Read moreOverall staying here was an enriching experience at least. At $55/night for two queens regardless of occupants it's pretty darn cheap but for not much more you can stay in a nice chain hotel nearby with free breakfast. With that kind of budget and the light traffic of this tiny town I don't see how this place could ever really change anything.
On the up side it's pet-friendly, has cable TV, free wifi, hot water, locks on the doors, air conditioning, no bed bugs, and a pop machine across the street with cans for 50 cents each.
On the down side our room smelled very musty and also like someone spilled an entire 50 cent can of Doctor Pepper on the floor and it never got cleaned. I had to put my shoulder into the bathroom door to get it to open or close. The bed frames moaned like the walking dead with the slightest movement. And the management is either unwilling or unable to offer refunds should you need to flake out on your second night as...
Read moreMy mom is from Wheaton, so when we always come to visit this is always it. We love the place always was nice and staff were always friendly. If you are into more fancy than homey feel this isn’t your place. Not that it’s old or run down it’s just a place of comfort and simple. I am glad that when I came yesterday to Wheaton that it’s still there and even changed color. It has been a while and since I didn’t stay this time around didn’t need a room. Can’t wait to come back soon to get a room and see what else has changed with the place. Love this place overall and hope everyone loves it as much as we do. I know I’ve been wanting to leave them a review for a long time glad I got to. I hope you all give them a good rating and have a great time...
