Park of last resort. This should not be a KOA - not up to KOA standards. First, at least 15 of the larger sites have been paid for by the Atlantic Coast Pipeline project. All but two were unused when we stopped, and as a result we were shoe-horned in next to another family. Even if unused, the park takes the revenue, but leaves them unused. I was told they can't be rented overnight even if at 6:00 pm there is no one there. We were told the "new owners" from two years ago, were "making improvements". Attached a pictures from the men's room - basically disgusting. I let the office know that it didn't seem that this was up to KOA standards, and was promptly told that it was up to KOA standards since they had just had a KOA inspection. You can judge for yourself. The WIFI was almost unusable even thought park was almost empty. Lastly, they have this odd, strictly enforced pool rule that no water bottles are allowed near the pool. I can see glassware, alcohol, etc, but water bottles on a hot day? The KOA "camper reviews" which says it is based on Google reviews say 4+ stars, however if you're reading this you can see that it's actually much lower. If that's how KOA advertises their reviews, and if this is the new KOA "standard", that a shame.

Very convenient to I-95. A bit rustic for KOA, limited amenities and no staff at all. We called at 5:15 on a Saturday to advise that we would be arriving late and the office was closed with a simple message that we should call back during office hours. No after-hours contact or ability to leave a message. Closed on Sundays. We had made our reservation on the KOA app the same day we arrived and luckily there was an envelope with our name on it at the office when we arrived around 8pm. Simple pull-through site was unlevel and grass/gravel but did the trick for a one-night stopover. Dumped tanks and headed out around 10am the next day. Never saw any staff; was pretty empty on the weekend. Doubt anyone comes here except I-95 travelers stopping over (there were a few older trailers that appeared to be full time / long term residents in the back). It is less than 5 minutes from the expressway but very quiet. Couldn't hear the traffic at all. Definitely would consider as a stopover in the future. Halfway between NY/NJ and Florida so convenient for that.

This campground is upgrading so many features it is so great to see this small business occupy such a small rural town. It would be awesome if some Internet giant would provide much needed internet and cable service. This is a wonderful campground to get away from the hustle of the city! Staff is very friendly, especially the owner and as a woman, I am so proud that this "woman owned" business is a refreshing change of pace. Stacey Ashwood, husband Richard, father Mike are wonderful, courteous and very informative. Helpful as they can be, helping so many during the hurricane and storms, offering a refuge until so many could get back to their homes. Pet friendly, and happy to provide a home away from home. The grounds are clean and wonderfully kept, grass mowed and bathroom & showers are clean. Holidays and/or other special occasions are celebrated throughout the campground and no one is a stranger! Love this place!!!

I have never stayed at this KOA, but I had a reservation during the COVID-19 outbreak. Unfortunately, as a member of the US Air Force I have been prohibited to travel, so I called to cancel my reservation. The person on the phone said no problem, and I thought that was the end of it. Except the emailed receipt showed a $10 cancellation fee. I know that was what I agreed to when making the reservation, but considering the circumstances, I figured I'd call to see if there was anything that could be done. The same person answered, and I explained (again) the situation, that the Air Force instituted a travel ban that prevented me from going to the KOA. This time though, the man on the phone wasn't so nice. He constantly interrupted me and implied that I was making it up. I told him that I could understand his point of view, but I also told him I could prove what I was saying was true. He wouldn't listen, as I couldn't get a few words out before he interrupted me again. I thought maybe this employee didn't understand customer service, so I asked for the manager. Turns out, this guy is the owner. Again, I tried to explain that I wasn't cancelling by choice - the US Air Force was preventing me from any travel. It made no difference. The owner wouldn't stop saying this was my 'choice' and that I signed the agreement. Look, I didn't necessarily expect to have the cancellation fee waived, but I did expect some common courtesy and respect. I informed the owner that he was losing me as a customer due to his behavior, but he didn't care at all. Just kept talking over me and implying that I was lying and this was my choice. I can't believe that at a time like this, an owner of all people, could be that rude. Anyway, I'll never be going to that KOA - not because of the $10 cancellation fee, but do to his lack of respect to my situation....

My family stayed at this KOA about 4 years ago and had an absolutely horrible experience. I had read so much about the new owners and lots of changes so I decided to give it a try again. Check in was fine very quick and to the point no frills about it. The new owner was not rude however she didn’t have much to say, defiantly not a people person. I really saw no updates except some wood on one bridge that was super crooked and unlevel. The grass was very unkept. A lawn mower and weedeater defianty needs to be put to use!!!! With the grass being unkept and the ditches being VERY unkept it made it impossible to sit outside at night due to mosquitos. I know mosquitos are a part of being outside but the y’all grass is just a mosquito magnet. The men’s showers were out of order due to a water leak. It would of been really nice to know ahead of our arrival (we typically use the bathhouses for showering.) Updates do take time however cleaning out the wayyyy overgrown flower beds and putting some mulch down is a pretty cheap update. I felt like a snake was going to come out of the flower bed every time I walked in the bathroom. The bathrooms were clean but outdated. The shower curtains and shower heads had been updated however the shower curtains were cloth and had mildew on them. The showers defiantly did not lack any water pressure or hot water. The playground was outdated and had nowhere for the parents to sit. Our site was nice it had a shade tree and was easy to get our camper level. This campground is defiantly just a stop off Hwy 95 and spend the night place. I was very hopeful that there was going to be changes with the new owners but I was...

Cabin #2 is perfect, a warm place to sleep with a ceiling fan, electricity, and there was a mini fridge! We didn't know that so we had coolers and ice but, the fridge came in handy for go to items and drinks! We requested a space heater because we didn't know there was a wall unit for heat and A/C and they accommodated that request upon check-in! The shop offers the necesities and then some! Also the keepsakes which I think are homemade, are precious!! Our cabin was right behind the playground and bath house. We have a 3 year old and she was so happy! Playground was a little outdated but completely nostalgic for me and our lil girl had a blast playing there! The grounds are very quiet considering we are so close to 95. Our cabin had a fire ring and a very small charcoal grill. The ring was clean and ready to use and we did. We set up a propane cooktop just off the porch. The grill is about 24' X 12' just the right size for burgers and dogs. We like to gourmet it up when we camp so this grill was totally useless to us. The view from the cabin is a cotton farm, not ideal, I was expecting forrest and sceanery during this Fall season but the cotton was ready to be picked and was just lovely to see! The staff at check-in was amazing! The staff during our stay was amazing! They are super helpful, friendly, and warm! The best part of our trip was Camp Kitty! I wish I could take him home with me! We have stayed at more luxurious places and less but this, for the $$ and 2 day stay to get-away, was just what we...
