I stayed one night in a cabin in March 2022. I wish I had read the reviews first, because I was unprepared for the bizarre, unsettling behavior of the site manager. The cabin I rented smelled horribly of toxic chemicals, so I chose to spend the night in my van. I parked the van near my cabin for my own peace of mind (I am a middle aged women traveling alone). The manager FREAKED OUT. Quiet hours are at 10 (I went to sleep around 9) and was woken up at 11:30 by this irate manager, blaring his truck's high beams into the cabin. He then proceeded to place traffic cones and concrete barriers around the perimeter of the cabin, to block in my car. WHen I asked him why he was doing this he lost it. He was shouting, accusing me of being drunk (um, what?) and telling me he was going to fine me for parking so close to the cabin. He was actually acting like an abuser. He kept saying: "this is your choice and you will suffer the consequences!" He would not allow me to speak or explain--he just kept shouting: "You chose this!" That is how an abuser behaves--locked into his own warped system of crime and punishment, I was totally taken aback. He treated me as if I were some scumbag--and I was like: why are you so angry that I am sleeping in a camper van? ||The man in the neighboring cabin asked me if I wanted him to call the police (to protect me against the mgr's wrath). For the rest of the night I could not sleep- the psycho kept driving past and shining his headlights into the cabin. I felt very unsafe. This was a highly unpleasant,...
Read moreI cannot believe that KOA does not police their franchises better. This campground is a mess. Run Down, not open Sundays, bathrooms are old and a mess. Wicked close sites, cannot use an awning or you hit your neighbors slide. Go 40 miles north to the Emporia KOA and pay the same for a decent place. I have stayed here for years and it continues to go downhill. Now you cannot even make a reservation for a Sunday you have to pay for multiple days even if you use one night because the management cannot be bothered to be on site on Sundays. No dumpsters, no trash cans. Store has nothing if its even open. Pool is a mess, no where close to get a meal. If you are looking for a quick overnight its fair at best. Roads are full of pot holes and muddy. Ownership clearly does not take pride in...
Read moreThis is an older RV Park and a good size (65 +/- sites) it seems to be in the middle of a remodeling project. The electric hookups and water lines appear to be recently updated. The mostly level gravel spots are off gravel access roads - not a ton of space between sites, but we did not find it offensive. The hookups are convenient and functioned properly. No cable tv, not much chance for satellite coverage (trees) but enough OTA stations for basic programming. Their included WiFi was good - always providing a signal that was useful, Verizon cell service is good. Not much of a destination, it is close enough to the highway...
