We enjoyed a lovely relaxing stay at Rawson’s! Lisa is an amazing innkeeper, and very knowledgeable about the area.
The decor was thoughtful with great attention to detail. Everywhere I looked I saw a new vignette. It was stylish and impressive!
Our room was welcoming, comfortable and cozy. The bed and linens were wonderful. We used the en suite jetted tub and I appreciated her thoughtfulness in providing extra towels and nice shower amenities.
We enjoyed having access to two common area living rooms, one immediately outside our room. We stayed at an odd time, and there were no other guests, so it was very quiet. I could see that she tries to encourage other guests to be quieter/ respectful when using that room when there are guests in the room we stayed in.
Breakfast was a feast for the eyes and the taste buds. It was served on beautiful fine china at the time we chose. Snacks and beverages are readily available, and delightful. Many are handcrafted by Lisa, on site.
Rawson’s is located in a quiet little colony a short drive from Amana shops and restaurants. I would definitely choose to stay here again when visiting the Amana colonies.

Read moreMy husband and I just got back from our wedding anniversary celebration. The room was beautiful and a mix of elegance and fun. It was clean and beautifully decorated. Lisa was very thoughtful and a great hostess. Her food is top notch. Something that you would find at a culinary chef's restaurant. She uses fresh ingredients including herbs from her garden, homemade pastries, always good amount of protein -eggs, cheese, bacon, sausage. Fresh fruit each meal in a crystal glass. It is also served on China. We got the romance package delivered to our room including chocolate covered strawberries and fresh flowers that smell amazing and look gorgeous. She has a pool, hot tub, gazebo, cute chicken coup to look at, covered porch with seating where we took our choice of Keurig coffee and tea out there. We are definitely coming back! Most comfortable, beautiful, relaxing, fun place. We even roasted s'mores and watched DVDs, played games she had on hand. We traveled nearly 8 hours one way, but will do it again and stay another 3 nights. Lots of cool stuff at Amana colonies, too. Thanks Lisa for an...
Read moreStayed a night at this bed and breakfast.. We very much enjoyed the pool and the pool area. The breakfast was plentiful and good in the morning. Lisa was a good historian of her B&B and of the Amana Colonies. She had items to snack on and coffee and teas available all the time. The location was good because it is located within the Amana Colonies and close to other nearby towns. The only reason I put my rating down to 3 and 4 stars is that when we came back to the bnb after fireworks there was a bat flying around in the dining room It was a bit scary to say the least. Also I always have a habit of checking the bed in hotels and b and b's and my husband found a spider on my pillow. I tried to reach out to Lisa about these two things and received no response. Finding that spider on my pillow made me uneasy the rest of the night. So if it wasn't for those 2 things, I would have given this B & B a straight 5...
