This was my third time staying here and it will be my last 😢 Upon arrival, the owners checked us in but were definitely not as friendly as in the past. That pretty much set the wheel in motion for the rest of our stay. Rooms were only cleaned after check out due to COVID. Lady bugs flying all over our room. We were unable to get our own coffee due to COVID but could use a community toaster at the toasting station at breakfast without regards to COVID contamination. (Makes no sense whatsoever) Breakfast was mediocre at best. Typically, a Bed and Breakfast will serve delicious foods prepared using special thought out recipes. Two mornings in a row, we got cold frozen tater tots for breakfast along with pre-cooked sausage links and mediocre eggs. Again, no friendly conversation by the staff. Our last evening at the hotel, we were visiting in the dining area and at approx. 7 or 8 p.m., the TV was shut off and all of the lights in the common areas were turned down! Not a word from the staff to say goodnight, see you tomorrow, etc. Upon check out, we got "see you soon...or maybe not". Huh?? So...
Read moreWhat a delightful place! We stayed one night in July 2022 while visiting the Amana Colonies. The hotel is clean. Staff very friendly. Bed very comfortable. It’s decorated very “country.” Antiques, seating everywhere, and a nice gathering room. They put out “sweet treats” around 3:00 every day. The afternoon we checked in, they had cherry bars out. So yummy! The next morning, the breakfast was fantastic. Egg casserole, lots of fresh fruit, blueberry pancakes, coffee and juice. No coffee pot in the room - but a Keurig is available in the main hallway all the time. Just a short walk from any room.
The only suggestion might be to upgrade the WiFi. We realize it’s an old building with thick brick walls - but WiFi boosters OR even a second router would help. That’s not a deal killer though … if we ever get the chance to come back to the Colonies, we’ll definitely stay at Zuber’s again! Thank you for a...
