Economy Inn — Hotel in Wilson

Residential hotel. This was a quiet & home-like motel but it turned into a loud, come & go type hotel gradually & very unfortunately. Loud music & vehicles coming in & out all hours of the day & night, 7 days a week. Weekends are much worse!! Not to mention the TYPES of people coming in & out of there. Good working heat & AC, fridge & microwave, cable tv & wifi (but the Wifi didn't reach our room so I don't know how well it worked). The room is very small & not ideal if you have a child. It's an older hotel but everything (in our building off to the side) has been either updated or well maintained (mostly). And the rates are a little bit cheaper than some hotels around, but they're also alot smaller too! Only thing that the room could use is a dresser or clothes rack. Hotel is formerly known as Matthews Motel. And the office is not open 24 hours because it is a residential hotel mostly (kinda ran like apartments except the tenants/guests don't get the same legal rights) & it is ran by 1 person & you can pretty much only (with very few exceptions) get fresh linens/towels, etc during her "open office hours" which are 9:30am-12pm Monday thru Friday but can vary based on the managements personal issues & issues pertaining to the hotel. Then last but definitely not least...the bugs. They have pest control out there every few weeks but there's still bugs despite how hard they try to fight them off. And mice. (but if you tell them that they'll deny it & deny it until the problem has escalated severely & then they'll place blame elsewhere---which I hear is normal these days at hotels). But alot of it is because of it's location. There is alot of grass, bushes, trees, water, etc on the property. And the woods are right behind the hotel. So of course there are going to be some kind of bugs around. In summary, this used to be a really great place to stay but over time it just began to become like all the rest. But it just wasn't right for small families anymore, or at least not mine anyways. But I couldn't keep exposing my family to certain things anymore. I'm hoping that over time it will get back to being the great peaceful hotel it was just a short time ago. And I've heard from people that they are slowly getting things back in order. I used to love the place but it slowly stopped being right for my little family. Which sucked but places change unfortunately & when they do you just got to move on. It's a very nice place to stay. It's nice and quiet. I love the fact they try to keep it that way. It's a good place for families, without all the crazy mess that goes on around hotels. If you're looking to party this isn't the place. If you're looking for rest you can have a nice sleep here. The people here are nice and friendly and mostly families. The rooms are nice you just don't have dressers or closets. And the price is reasonable. I much rather stay here than to stay at most of the places around here. To much craziness for me so...
