The visits to the mill are always enjoyable, especially on days where the weather is nice. They have added a few buildings since we started going. The older man, John, is always nice and well informed. They will show you all about how the equipment operates and it is very cool. However, the absolute best part is the food!!! When you hear about people eating grits and different things like flour, they are nothing like what we get in stores or restaurants. Honestly, I haven't really found ANY I like outside of Falls Mill grits. Anything else tastes like cardboard or worst. All the "tasteless" machine lubricants, chemicals, etc. and excessive storage required for modern production and distribution are not found. They just spin a rock around, powered by water, and grind the food. (I double the water on the grits and stir regularly, top open). There are walking trails and plenty to enjoy on the outside. If you haven't been, you should go. I don't know of any of their products I don't like. If you don't go, try the food!! The B&B is new since we have been, but are talking about...
Read moreThis is a fantastic place to visit! The Log Cabin B&B is so relaxing. The sound of the falls and the rumbling of the mill takes you back in time.||||This is a favorite spot for my wife and I. My first trip here was over 25 years ago and it made such an impression on me me that we still visit as often as we can. We spent out honeymoon in the log cabin. You can beat the warm fire in the fireplace and the fantastic food that Janie Lovett has waiting for you when you arrive. The entire location from the mill, the log, cabin, blacksmith shop, waterfalls, shady woods down by the creek, and the water rushing over the dam is simply outstanding. History has been painstakingly restored and preserved at this site. The rumbling of the mill will take you back in time as you watch the 32 foot water wheel turn to power the shafts and belts inside the building. Falls Mill is definitely...
Read moreThe stay at the log cabin at Falls Mill was such a pleasant experience. The owners, John and Jane, make you feel like they have prepared for friends visiting. The kitchen is stocked with farm fresh eggs, wonderful pastries and breads, ham & sausage, milk & cereal. Coffee and tea are furnished and half &half was in the frig. No powdered creamer here. A comfortable queen and twin bed are upstairs. The shower is small but pleasantly surprised by the hot water after three ladies showering. ||The mill which is open to the public is like stepping back in time and John & Jane personally give you the tour. Hats off to them for preserving a piece of history for...
