If I had to choose between this hotel and the next leading chain, I’d choose the AmericInn by Wyndham, every single time! Specifically THIS location. I’ve actually stayed here for a second time after a girlfriend of mine and her family recommended it. I wasn’t familiar with the Wyndham brand. Let me tell you...that manager, Mrs. Kathryne (Kat), turned my entire perception of Wyndham around. I’m a loyal Marriott guest. The professionalism and attitude of Mrs. Kat was very appreciated. She clearly enjoys what she does and there’s no doubt about that. I immediately felt welcomed upon arriving. My check-in process was simple and easy. The staff was very organized and knowledgeable, and paid careful attention to every detail of my questions—they listen. Mrs. Kat’s ability to build rapport with me made my solo travel feel less lonely. My itinerary surprisingly matched her work schedule so when I came and went, she was present and pop out to speak. She anticipated my needs by making recommendations for lunch and dinner. Speaking of my room...IMPRESSED! The room was fresh and clean smelling, bedsheets laundered properly, and the floors were CLEAN. What really impressed me was that Mrs. Kat, herself, brought a toiletry I requested from the desk. As a manager myself, it’s easy to delegate another staff member to give great customer service, but Mrs. Kat displayed servant leadership. I witnessed her folding towels with a housekeeper and their relationship looked to be sweet. I can only imagine the relationships she builds with her team based on the interaction I witnessed. I’m a huge reviewer and this, by far, is my favorite review. I’m at home now, but still feel the effects of the kindness shown by the General Manager, Mrs. Kat. I’ll be staying here again when I’m in MN. I didn’t feel like an account number, but this staff made me feel special, even if I was a stranger to them. God bless you all! P.S. this staff’s training and practices need to be adopted nationwide— knowing how to treat people these days is critical to...
Read moreEverything other than ADA aspects was very good and I would give a higher star. But.... I'm fulltime wheelchair without the ability to use my legs. When we got to the room we noticed immediately the bed was going to be too low for me to transfer off of and onto my wheelchair. We were told that management decided to pull out the box springs to lower the bed height. WORST decision ever! This made the mattress sag almost like a hammock and while sitting on edge of bed my butt was only 13 or 14 inches above the floor and my wheelchair seat is at 21 inches height. The bed was very uncomfortable and I'd give a ZERO star for that fact. For four mornings I had to use a slide board to slide from bed to an ottoman and then to my wheelchair. Sliding UP a slide board is very difficult. The hotel had no roll in showers but rather a low tub with fold down seat at the far end, which makes reaching the controls impossible. Unfortunately the seat was also far too low to use. We also discovered that both pool lift chairs were out of order so the pool was not available to me as well. (they did manage to repair the lift at the spa but sadly it was the last night of our stay and the chair didn't raise up high enough anyway) During a discussion with the manager she stated she would discount our room. That never happened. The staff at the desk was very good and tried very hard to make our stay as good as they could. The breakfast offering was not to our liking but not a big deal as we would gladly endure that for a better bed. All together this hotel is clean and beautiful to look at with very good staff but it falls down on ADA...
Read moreWhen I arrived to the hotel, checking in was easy and the front desk associate was very helpful. When I got into my room, however, the room was still dirty from the last tenant. The bed had dirty sheets on them, the floor had dried mud everywhere, used towels were on the bathroom floor, and the trash cans were over flowing. I went back to the front desk and was told that the housekeeping were gone for the day and that there were no other rooms available. I requested new bedding and towels - there were no clean towels available so I received a few hand towels and wash clothes. The front desk personnel reported that they were currently washing laundry/towels and would bring some to my room once they were dry - I never got the towels. I proceeded to make my own bed so that I could sleep. Overall, not very impressed with all of that. The breakfast in the morning was great. Afterwards, my account (Wyndham) was charged twice for the night. I had used my reward points to book the room for 15,000 points and they deducted the 15,000 twice. I am currently attempting to contact Wyndham...
