Update:
After 45 minutes on the phone customer service refunded my internet charge and made sure this would not happen again.
Showed up today for an 8 day stay here. Great location, been here to this location 7 or 8 times, love being near the Golf course and wine tasting in the area. Out of the shoot we went to our room it wasn't ready. The maid service had not been complete. The cleaning cart was there but it seems the maid had abandoned the task midway through.
This kind of thing happens, I understand it, not the reason for the review just maybe part of a bigger problem.
The thing is we have been Worldmark members for 25+ years. We have silver status or what ever they call 20,000 points now. During our entire ownership we have never paid for internet. Big surprise today for the first time ever we got dinged for internet connection. When I called and talked to a supervisor I was told unless I had travelshare I had to pay for the internet. I explained to her I never have had to before and she told me that it had been that way for a long time. Clearly, intimating that I must be lying to her because I had to have known this before. After all this is has been the policy for "a long time". Well I have been coming to Worldmark for "a long time" and I have always gotten internet, no charge. Then after basically questioning my veracity she ended it all by being condescending to me at the close of the conversation. A completely new experience for me at Worldmark. It's not about the chump change I had to pay for the internet, though being nickel and dimed is annoying and this policy reversal is a topic for another day, it's about how I was treated.
Except for the Marketing and Sales side of their business, which has been a mixed bag, I have always been extremely impressed with World Mark customer service people so this singular episode was quite a shock. So I am left to consider 3 options here.
This attitude is part of the Travel and Leisure group taking over from Wyndham and I should expect more of the same in the future. If that is the case too bad we lost Wyndham.
The Supervisor I talked to was the exception and completely unlike all the other customer service people I have interacted with at Worldmark for 25 years. In an organization this large it is likely there will be a few bad apples and she is just one. If that is the case perhaps at some point in the future she and Worldmark will part ways.
The Supervisor was simply experiencing some unrelated personal problems that uncharacteristically carried over to her work. If so I truly hope that she gets some resolution to what ever caused her to...
Read moreThis particular resort is OK, no more, no less. Accommodation is clean but the room service is non existent. No maid came during a 7 day stay to clean, change linens, empty trash etc. We are owners at the Royal Resorts in Cancun and exchanged our weeks for here. The service and attention there is outstanding with daily maid service But here I was not impressed! The most aggravating issue was the high pressure sales pitch we were forced to attend. Initially we were told that it would be an hour, then once we paid our 20$ reservation fee which was refunded after 2 1/2 hour sales pitch by inexperienced sales. Staff. Very similar to low class car salesman, who offered deals only for "today"then bringing in his/her manager to validate numbers which were horrible. My daughter and son in law were even treated worse. Their salesperson would not answer questions and kept on talking despite been asking a question and avoiding giving a true full answer. The numbers just did not add up!!!! The reception staff were friendly. Bedding terrible, very uncomfortable. Towels were rough Furnishing were typical middle of the road hotel style. Kitchen layout awful. You cannot open the dishwasher if you are standing in front of the sink, which is when you need to rinse plates and place them in the dishwasher. Tiny trash cans that you have to empty daily yourself
WiFi is a joke! You have to pay for a less than 1mbs upload and download which is close to to dial up! Why do so called upscale hotel chains charge for WiFi when Motel 6 do not!!
TV cable OK but unfriendly user interface
I liked that each unit had a BBQ grill on the potion. Unfortunately we did not get to use it.
As mentioned we exchange our weeks through RCI and getting the days we wanted was hard. Wyndham claim during their pitch that you buy into the "bonus"program and have easy access to any date! Hum... I wonder.
The Sonoma area is wonderful and we visited many of the sites and wineries recommended by the staff and were not disappointed . We also went to Napa area which is significantly more expensive.
I am not sure if I would come back to WorldMark here or anywhere else unless I can check out the locations and...
Read moreConveniently located timeshare in Northern California Wine Country. Close to Healdsburg, restaurants, Safeway). 1 .5 hour drive to San Francisco Bay Area. Has nice amenities (pool, hot tubs, basketball courts, volleyball court, shuffleboard, ping pong, gym, arcade game room (have to pay as you play), Public BBQ gas grills and each unit has one too), washer and dryer in the unit with detergent, etc).
As soon as you walk into the front desk area, staff is warm and friendly. Self-serve free coffee in the morning. Self-serve Ice water and Pink Lemonade late morning - afternoon. Concierge Desk is there to help with your local activities interests (wine country tours, outdoor activities, restaurant options), and, of course, get you to attend a 60 minute owners meeting (free meal and gift for attending) to try you to sell more of the “Worldmark by Wyndham” dream.
What my family really enjoyed about this place is that while this place can be fully sold out, the units inside are quiet and the complex is spread out so the only areas that seems crowded is by the pool and main building area. Also having the BBQ gas grill on your units balcony is wonderful because you can easily grill and eat in your unit. Also having access to a self-serve luggage trolley is awesome if you are family that comes with a lot of stuff to bring into your room.
Our negatives here is the unit wasn’t stocked and had to call the front desk for more toilet paper, paper towels, shampoo (only one bottle per bathroom and this place has no lotion). Had only one kitchen sponge. The tile floors were not clean (bathroom or kitchen) or carpet. Walking barefoot in the room our feet were black in a manner of minutes (gross). And this unit (4208) did not have...
