One of my worst hotel experiences to date. Absolutely awful communication by the front desk staff. Requested an early check-in when the room was booked. I called in at 10am on the day of to confirm, but it was too early for them to tell me and was told to call back around 12. I called back about 1 and was told they'd have our room ready by 2. Both times they pulled my reservation and confirmed our room. Ate at the onsite restaurant before going to check in, about 235. Room was still not ready and I was told it'd be about 30 more minutes, they were working on it. 30 minutes later we were told 10 more minutes, they were working on it. 10 minutes later we were told just a little bit longer, the housekeeping manager went down to do it herself. Our room was on the other side of the hotel. They refused to give us our key so we could start making our way down to the room. We had to wait until they got confirmation the room was done. Finally were able to get our room key at 4pm. An hour after hotel, check in time and 2 hours after we were told it would be ready. Shared with them from the very first phone call that we had someplace, we needed to get to and it was critical our room was ready. They couldn't accommodate an early check in due to a full house the night before. I get that. But check in is 3pm. To be told we could check in early and then not only not accommodate, but make us late for our event, costing us money. On top of that, the young lady that came in around 3 was rude. I kept trying to find out if the room was ready. They just kept telling me I had to wait, they had to get housekeeping to tell them. You have customers waiting for a room well, after check in and you're not doing what you need to do to get those guests in their room. I have managed a hotel and that would have never been acceptable. I completely understand having a full house. I completely understand that the front desk staff was probably overwhelmed, but not giving guests accurate information is not the way to handle the situation. You don't promise what you can't deliver and if you tell someone you're going to deliver something, you make sure it gets done. At no point in time were we offered 2 adjoining rooms to replace the King suite we couldn't get into or even a discount. At one point, the gentleman at the desk actually had the audacity to ask me why we just couldn't leave our stuff in our car. We had our child with, a cooler of food and beverages, and we needed to change before we got to where we needed to go. The fact that he had the nerve to suggest that simply because he couldn't properly communicate with the housekeeping staff to ensure him telling me our room would be ready at 2 was actually a true statement. We paid full price for a room and the gentleman when asked wouldn't do anything to compensate us for the fact that we were late getting checked in. He pretty much just sat there, silent and made us more frustrated. On top of all of that your exterior doors didn't lock, the room number direction signs were not correct, two of the sinks didn't have hand soap or towels at them, the light was ran off of a power strip that wasn't even plugged in, one of the toilets wasn't properly flushing each time because the chain on the pull stop was about a link too long, one of the sinks was cracked, the pull up couch for our child only gave a sheet no blanket so they had to wear clothes on top of their pjs to be warm enough, and one side of the bed had a bar sticking out of it that caused me to cut my leg. The next day trying to get a hold of the manager was impossible, and I'm still waiting to try to connect with them. The front desk staff at this hotel clearly need lessons in hospitality and whoever's job it was to train them did not succeed Maybe this isn't the correct job for...
Read moreThere is a long list of things, each one on their own wouldn't be an issue, but all together it was rough. Pillows were so small and flattened out, asked for another couple pillows but there was none. Major issue for our stay. Hot tub was colder than the pool, was out of order the remainder of our stay, also huge issue for us. Staff was not overly kind, almost rude and matter of fact. The gentleman giving me the room keys announced the room number out loud! Didn't think they were supposed to say the room number at all. Toilet water leaked all over, cigarette burn on the tub, the bottles of body wash were already used and almost gone, the entire drain plug mechanism came out of the tub, it was unglued from the base of the tub. Super slippery tub, shower curved curtian rod was twisted and therefore hanging down and couldn't keep the curtian to the side. Mold in the shower tile, and soap scum on everything chrome-major build up, not just a week or whatever-very gross. Several doors with key card access were proped open CONSTANTLY! An open can of paint or stain sat on a garbage can near our room for 2 days. The parking was okay the first couple days, and the following two days we had to park on the far side of the green mill when our room was on the opposite corner. Several nights there were homeless people sitting on the bench near the entrance-not necessarily a major issue, but each night there was at least 1 if not 2 people smoking out there, eerie if you are a female alone. The breakfast selection was amazing, but Saturday morning it was packed in the breakfast area for a long time so we just left and ate breakfast on the road. Hot tub and breakfast are the main things we look for when booking, so this was very frustrating. Bed was fairly comfortable, I've slept on worse, but it wasn't great. And in combination with the lack of pillows it was a long rough night. My husband and I worked security at Somerset and worked long hard hours and just wanted to come back to the hotel and relax between shifts. I would expect to pay half of what I did for what we received. The temperature of the room and degree of control of said temperature was amazing, black out curtians were great, and fairly decent for noise our entire stay-i didn't hear yelling, music, running or stomping etc from other guests. The bedding smelled very fresh and crisp, I greatly appreciate that. As a whole, the building was run down and had exposed wires on all the doors from old key card readers, I would guess, made it look vandaled and run down. Overall, I can't say I would choose to...
Read moreThis hotel is a scam. Worst hotel experience of my life. Decided not to stay here and they still charged me full price.
We booked a 3-night stay at Country Inn by Radisson through a third party website for $498 in June, 2024. It was immediately noticeable as we pulled up to the building that something was strange. The hotel was run down and deceptively different than the pictures posted on the third party website and the Country Inn website.
We didn't find out until after checking in and walking towards our room that the building was under construction. There was dust everywhere, musty air, and missing walls/ceiling all down the indoor hallway. The room we were provided had a small old bathroom, dim lighting, and dirty ripped carpet/floors. Furthermore, the bathroom tub was leaking, towel had a red stain, baseboards were cracking off, paint was peeling above the bed, toilet was discolored, and there were large spider webs in the bathroom. Not to mention, the curtains were see-through (we were on the first floor). We asked to see another room because of the awful condition, but the alternative room was just as bad.
Despite being so tired from traveling, we decided we could not tolerate staying there and we spoke with the front desk for a long time to remove our reservation and fees. Even when shown the many unacceptable issues and when promptly notified that we would not be accepting any accommodations in such disgusting conditions, the hotel did not allow us to cancel our reservation or compensate in any way. They simply pointed us to their unwavering cancelation policy and instructed us to contact the third party to attempt a refund. (Spoiler, the third party website would not give a refund either.)
There was a complete lack of accountability from the hotel and its staff, which is unacceptable and inhumane from any business standpoint. We escaped the hotel without a resolution and were forced to find and book appropriate accommodations at a different hotel for the same 3 nights of our stay. I have since learned through several other reviews that many travelers were less fortunate and felt forced to stay in those awful conditions.
Be advised, you can likely submit a credit card Quality Dispute and force a refund if you leave right away. Make sure this fraudulent business doesn't get ahold of your hard earned money.
I was shocked to see that the hotel is still not finished remodeling after more than 5 months since I'd seen it. Their prices now seem to be cut in half too, which is...
