We camped at Yucaipa Regional Park RV Campground at site 7 in a 36’ 5th wheel camper. The campground is about 5 miles from the interstate exit with few turns. Check in was easy and the staff at the gate was very friendly. The gate closes at 4:30 so one must have a code to enter after that. Campground roads are easy to maneuver but in a few places have very large bumps where the tree roots have damaged the pavement. Some sites also have the damaged pavement with large bumps due to tree roots. There were no low hanging branches over the road or sites.
Our site had the sewer connection directly in front of the power connection and the sewer cap was missing. Our driveway/pad was asphalt and very long. There was a large concrete pad for the picnic table but it was quite forward of the connections. If one pulled forward so your camper is adjacent to the pad then you would need a pretty long sewer hose. Our grill was loaded with ashes and the site had the most litter of all the campgrounds we stayed at on a 6-week trip. In 4 days I never saw a host or park ranger in the campground even though there were park ranger trucks at the entrance. If sites were ever inspected by staff maybe they’d replace missing sewer caps and clean up the site and grills. There was a group fire ring close to our site and it was full of trash. I had 2 bars of cell service with AT&T and there were 35 OTA channels on our TV. Our site was close to Oak Glen Rd, the road you enter on. It had a surprising amount of traffic noise. If this is a concern then a site in the north loop might be a better choice. There is a nice amount of room between most of the sites.
When walking through the campground it seemed that most of the grills were loaded with ashes and some trash. Lots of the campground has what appears to be ant colonies but I didn’t see much ant activity until my 4th day when a gazillion ants were all over the pad below my pass through and later appeared in my bathroom, ugh. This campground has some sites that I would call “group pull through sites” or “buddy sites”. They are longer pull throughs with 2 or 3 sets of camper connections spaced evenly. We paid $40 a night for full hook up plus a $7 online reservation fee. I would stay here again because it is close to the interstate and there is a lot to do in the area but the place can sure use...
Read moreWe went camping there the past 4 days. The swim/slides were open but even though we were camped there, I had to go sit in a line from 7am til 10am in order to guarantee tickets for my grandkids to go in even though we paid to camp there. They open the park for day users at 7:30 and if you are not in line before that there is a good chance you will not get in to the swim park. We also had to pay the same price as the day users on top of what we already paid to camp. We used to like going there as it is convenient but we will not go back until they change their procedures. The only plus was the manager Bridger. He was great. He went out of his way to ensure my granddaughter had a great time for her 8th birthday. He was truly awesome and a great manager. We have camped there at least 6 times but have always had issues with the pool. Most of the time it was closed as no lifeguards because as they were in school or the slides were closed because of Covid, or no chemicals for the pool (we were told that once) or the chlorine spill that contaminated the water, etc etc etc. Now they are open from 10 to 4 Saturday and Sundays only if you can get in. We went to Elsinore a couple of weeks ago to camp and the pool and the splash pad were open from 8am to at least 8pm, and the kids had just as much fun and we paid to camp only, the swim and splash were included and it was the same price to camp as yucaipa. Not the extra $109 just for the swimming on top of our camping fees. But again Bridger is a great manager and really too good of an asset for this place as this place is getting worse...
Read moreWe arrived very late in the evening and were appreciative the park provided the gate code to get in after 4:30pm. Our site was easy to find but it wasn't very level. So we did spend quite some time leveling. We were across from the center bathrooms/showers. The bathrooms do provide plenty of privacy as they are covered but they are practically outdoors...if it is chilly out you will be cold. The showers were out of order with a sign that says to us the North Showers. They are coin operated and not free so if you can shower in your RV, you should.
There is also no one on site to enforce quite time. The RV across from us decided they should party until 3:15am. Loud music and cackling laughs were a plenty. A little rough when our departure time was 6am. Disappointed that people aren't courteous to their neighbors 25 feet away.
The park must be pretty popular on the weekends though as there was a line at 6am to get...
