Desert Paradise is an Encore park just East of Yuma. We found it to be a very pleasant stay. Like most parks of this type it is a mix of (mostly) "park model" trailers and temporary visitors like ourselves. Overall very clean and neat, with acceptable amenities (nice laundry, pool, wi-fi by Jabba but no on-site store/shop). There are lots of nearby shopping for food and easy access propane and diesel fueling off-site nearby. The standout here was the staff. Exceptionally friendly and helpful, they were also very quick to resolve a problem we encountered with our 50amp power post. It was fixed within 2-3 hours (while we shopped) even though this was early AM and they'd had to bring in a contractor. It is an older park but well maintained. The only downside was, as an older park, the sites were a bit narrow, though our motorhome DID fit, with our large slide it was tight. We heartily recommend Desert Paradise and would stay there again if we are in the area.

We were down visiting friends and enjoyed the area. Lots of snowbirds getting some fun-shine, we didn't jog over to Mexico but there was plenty else to do. Most everyone has pets but yeah leashes are required until you are in The dog run which is quite large. Friendly people but this is really a retirement spot for Northerners with a few travelers stopping by.

Initial impression: Positive and a neat place to park my RV for a week or so. Yes - if you're a train fan, the Santa Fe passes about 100 yards north of RV park. And, if your aviation/airplane aficionado, location is less than 2 miles off the north end of Yuma Marine Corp and International airport. Thereafter, Desert Paradise is a quality 5 star RV Resort. Though it is rather old, new ownership has invested to upgrade, expand services, and improve your overall experience. Kathy and the office staff are both personable, friendly, and competent. They'll find an answer for almost any question.

The park is mostly snowbirds in both RV and park models; well laid out, scenic with trimmed trees along each street. Space #s are painted in LARGE numbers - most helpful at night hookup.

Residents are really open, friendly, and helpful. There's an upbeat, positive mood and ambiance around the park. Lots of bicycles ridding by. There are daily activities to choose from; also evening programs with visiting entertainers; tickets are usually $7/person. FREE cable TV is a plus.

Their FREE Wifi is only in the Library, behind the office; however it is strong and there's room to bring your laptop.

Staying a week and perhaps will extend. Definitely...

Older facility but well taken care of. Carol at the front office is wonderful and so considerate to help however she can. My wife and I (Roy and Kathy Voeller) enjoyed this park so well, we booked another three week stay for three weeks from now at this writing. My wife loved the line dancing lessons, especially the teachers, the jam session and chair yoga. Also was so happy with being able to attend activities at the park next door as there is a connecting path to get to it. Enough activities to keep you entertained! Even an occasional lunch or dinner offering. You pay for it but price was right. |Laundry room was great. Nice large capacity washers and dryers. Although, having to use the CSC laundry cards is not our cup of tea. Not a deal breaker though. |The community of permanent residents are very friendly and welcoming to us rv travelers. If you have dogs you’ll really appreciate the dog park area. Huge and so well maintained. |Overall I enjoyed our time here and definitely...
