Over the years this park has gone from being an excellent park to visit to the point where it has, in my opinion, to be considered a very low grade park with very little maintenance. They have a pool that is closed for repairs more often then it is open and other areas that are in dire need of upkeeping. Our first trip was in 2012/2013 and the upkeep has been going downhill every year since. We did not visit from 2019 until March of 2023, due to medical issues, and I noticed that some things that were broken in 2018 were still not repaired. There were reports this year of items being stolen as anyone can enter the park at any time during the day or night I feel this park can only be rated one or two star with the only good feature being it's location. These are my own personel feelings and not intended to encourage nor deter people from going there as everyone is entitled to visit and form their...
Read moreWe have always enjoyed our stays at Cactus Gardens. The staff is friendly, helpful and provide personal communications when necessary. Being able to receive mail is a nice feature provided by the management. The pool and hot tub area is well maintained and clean. A Library and billiards tables on site is a great addition. Our site utilities all functioned as expected and without interruptions. Local stores nearby (Fry's, Walmart, ACE Hardware) make it easy to stay stocked up with groceries and anything else needed. Only 20 miles away is the friendly Mexican town of Los Algodones where quality dental work (Supreme Dental) can be obtained at a fraction of the USA prices. Highly suggest a meal and drinks at "Mi Casa" just a couple block walk south of the main shopping area. Passports are required for re-entry to the USA. Looking forward to our next visit at...
Read moreCactus Gardens is a good, friendly, clean, reasonably priced place for over 55 snowbirds (median age 75) to hunker down for winter. The facility itself is old, but is continually maintained including the hot tub and pool which are very warm, clean and usable all winter. The sites are typically sized. The wifi doesn't reach beyond the buildings, and the cable is fuzzy snow. The location in the Foothills is good near to amenities for shopping and 12 minutes or so to Yuma.
The culture here is very dog friendly, however the dog run is outside the park in the desert.
The staff are great! They go above and beyond and do what they can. Their mail delivery is 1st class.
Encore, however, owners of the property, need to invest. New posts, cable, wifi, pool tile cleaning,...
