I absolutely love this park. It's beautiful. We go here almost every year and I always get the cabins on site. They are better than most hotel rooms I've had and you can't beat the price for the amount of space and amenities. If you get the upgraded cabins, the mattresses are as good as a hotel and they can come with a fireplace, cable TV and a full kitchen with basic dishes and cookware. And of course there's linens for the beds (packaged up so you know they are. Fresh and clean!) And towels so you can take a shower without having to bring along bulky towels along. I love sitting in the screen porch in the morning drinking a cup of coffee too. Overall highly recommend the cabins. Honestly, I usually just kind of hang around that area but the woods around it is beautiful and I plan to play on the disc golf course on site next time I visit! Lots of wildlife, over the years I've seen a whole bunch of deer, tons of birds, butterflies, and others, even a skunk passed through once! They do have a camp store on site that has a lot of basic stuff like camping supplies and drinks and ice cream as well. Also the staff has always been super kind and friendly which is always lovely to come back to!

Another great Ohio State Park! Dillon Campground is very well maintained with sites that are typically not too close together. There are several trails connected to the campground, but there is no access to the lake. A very well maintained disc golf course is situated withing the campground. And a skydeck that offers optimal viewing of the night sky! The sites are for the most part shaded As the campground is built on the hilltops, the sites tend to not get flooded and muddy (on average). Since it does sit in the hilltops, the roads and the surrounding trails literally have their ups and downs. Definitely not a flat and level bike ride around the park. We stayed in the full hookup sites that were recently upgraded. Also the shower house near these sites was also upgraded. There are several playgrounds to choose from. The beach is near, but requires a drive to get to it. The Licking River is nearby and has plenty of tubing and kayaking access points. Really enjoyed our stay here. Was very quiet and relaxing. Will add this park to our list of favorites.

We spent 3 nights on a campsite this past weekend, and it was a good campground, but other state parks are better. I gave 4 stars because it's a nice campground, with shower houses, a camp store and the nature center. It has some amazing views from the beach and lots of wildlife. I didn't give 5 stars because the sites are small and very close together. There was an amphitheater, the storytale trail, special nature center activities on Saturday, a fishing derby on Saturday, and when we checked in on friday afternoon at 3:30pm, no one said a word about any of it. Unfortunately, our 4 kids learned about the activities at the playground afterward! There was not easy access to the lake for all parts of the campground. If your looking to spend a good amount of time at the beach or near the water, the equestrian campground is the closest. We have always had great experiences at other state parks and this trip was disappointing.

Me & my fiancé are here for a week vacation due to it being our 1 year anniversary; we are on our last night here, tonight....& to be honest..I’m kinda glad we are leaving, it’s a bitter sweet though. But, Anyhow;..I would like to speak my mind & get a few things off of my chest that have been bothering me....One of my major issues; was that the raccoons are TERRIBLE HERE!!!!They ruined my fiancé’s $150 tent!! 😡 it definitely puts a sour start on a time of relaxation & TRYING TO NOT DEAL WITH ADDED & UN-NEEDED STRESS. On top of everything else, when we went to the on site camp store to wash our laundry; at the laundry mat there, of course...the washers & dryers stained up a lot of our new clothes & towels we bought for our stay....They NEED CLEANED OR NEW ONES; PLUS. The camp store whoever was there at the time, obviously did NOT know the prices of the washers. She said that the washers only was priced at a $1 for each load; come to find out they weren’t! They were $1.25....the added & additional .25 cents!! 😡& it was wrote in on them with a permanent marker, & smeared; So u couldn’t tell the price..& to make our trip matters even more inconvenient there was NOT ANY CHANGE MACHINE IN THE LAUNDRY MAT for quarters! 🙄ALSO; I literally called the same day about having the toilet paper being out in the ladies restrooms; & it needed re-stocked ASAP, & there STILL NOT FILLED! We’ve been out quite a few days now!! It’s gross feeling walking out with no tp to wipe with! OTHER THAN THOSE THINGS! & might I add, the annoying construction early in the morning & the lawn mowing as well; made it very inconvenient so u couldn’t sleep..ON THE GOOD NOTE; Since I don’t just want to seem like a negative Nancy or complainer..THE PARK & BEACH 🏖 ARE BEAUTIFUL!!!! & I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE DAM & seeing the gorgeous flowers 🌸 & wildlife this place...

Beautiful park, with kept up hiking, biking and bridle trails. Bathrooms are dated but clean and private. Great disc course and many playgrounds-one for each loop. My reason for 3 to 4 stars(normally I'd give this place 5 stars) is that we were visited by the park rangers because they said they couldn't find our self-registration envelope. The ranger said it wasn't in the kiosk, but I can tell you it's in there right now collecting dust probably under something or on something as my wife really knocked the envelope into the drop box slot. If we were allowed to access the kiosk we would likely find our self-registration envelope. The park rangers, I believe, didn't search the cluttered kiosk thoroughly as it is pilled to the ceiling with all kinds of bins and other stuff. The envelope likely slid on the floor under something or flew between some boxes or bins. The rangers assumed we didn't pay and were NOT convinced by our word. -...I'd love to search that kiosk...- In the meantime we have a check floating around that may or may not be seen again, and would cost 30 bucks to cancel. I just hope when they find it they give us a call. But other than that, this is a great park to stay at with plenty of park ranger patrols unlike East Fork State Park where I hardly saw a park ranger, just once a week. Also the young girl working at the park office wasn't overly friendly-but just doing her job. The other older park registration employees were very customer service friendly. We did not find any ticks while hiking the several trails or completing the 18 hole disc course. 4g Verizon 4 to 5bars signal at and near the walk-in site 106. Nearly 20meg/sec download speeds! Stores, restaurants, and big box retailers 5 to 10 mins away which was a huge convenience. We will...
