We really enjoy camping at Colt Creek State Park Campground. We've stayed at both sites 11 and 25. It's a quiet, small campground with level, clean sites. Some sites have a bit more privacy than others. If you'd like to see a video tour of the campground visit Youtube @MapleCamps, where we posted a video tour of each campsite. Colt Creek has quite a few walking, cycling and equestrial trails throughout the park. We even saw some goats out for a stroll with their owners! About two years ago they had canoes and kayaks for rent at the pond, but this year they had neither boat rentals, nor even firewood for sale. Aparently they were under new management, so call ahead if you were planning to buy/rent any of these items. Winter at Colt Creek is very pleasant, mid summer would be very hot, as most sites have very little tall tree shade, so plan accordingly. The campsites are well maintained gravel sites, with picnic benches, firepits and grills. Several of the sites have a bit of grassy area which is convenient for playing corn hole, skittle skattle or other games that benefit from some open space.
