We stayed here for three nights in January 2019 and enjoyed it very much. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the facilities were the perfect combination of modern and rustic. They offered a delicious breakfast each morning and often had ambient music playing in the main area of the posada during the day. It was located a bit farther from the main part of Jose Ignacio than we expected, but we had a rental car and it was only a 5-minute drive. (If I had read the hotel's description more carefully, I probably would have known this.) The only thing that made us a little uncomfortable was what appeared to be a Bible verse on the receipt when we checked out. As a same-sex couple visiting from the United States, this made us wonder if the hotel's management or owner would be accepting of our relationship, but we felt very welcome during our visit so it wasn't a problem for us. I generally think that religion and politics should be kept separate from business, but that's just my personal opinion. Other than that, it was a very pleasant stay and we would recommend...

As an architect I can relate to the welcoming and masterful design by one of the owners, distinguished local architect Fernando Sosa. The location is unbeatable: walking distance from a gorgeous beach and across the street from Marismo, one of the best restaurants in town. A great pool, hot tub and a superb breakfast made my experience very satisfying. The room and all premises were immaculately clean and exceeded my expectations. The super friendly and accommodating staff went above and beyond in terms of service. In my experience after traveling all over the world only five star hotels offer this level of personalized attention. I know I’ll come back to Uruguay soon and I also know exactly where I’m...
Read moreThe AC in the room would not cool down to the set temperature. There was no hand soap in the bathroom. The breakfast was absolutely terrible: EVERYTHING available to eat for breakfast was sweet; even the scrambled eggs were sweet!!! not sure if the kitchen confused the sugar for the salt or if that's the way they prepare them but they were unedible. Their homemade "granola" was basically peanuts with an occasional shaving of almond or coconut. My capuccino was lukewarm at best. The "pool" is so tiny that it wouldn't even qualify as a lap pool, but more as an oversized (unheated) tub, and the path from the main building to the rooms is sooo narrow that is virtually impossible not to hit the hamacks or patio furniture of the other rooms on the way to yours. Overall an overpriced...
