We were lucky enough to be guests of this posada under brand new managment: the owners had re-opened just a month before our arrival and everything was brand new and so carefully thought of||||As we were visiting a couple of weeks ahead of Christmas there weren't many people in town and we were the only guests here, which added to the experience as we were really taken care of, and we had the whole structure to us, which was great especially on a sunny but very windy day, when staying on the beach would have been impossible||||The structure itself is pretty small, with 4 rooms on the top floor and 2 on the ground it would make for a perfect private family reunion location. Our hosts bought them everyday from a panaderia in the area and they were a great reason to get out of bed||||The central location of the posada in la barra, two blocks from the beach allows guests to forgo a car, however the area is really pretty and a car would be necessary for exploring it, or just going to punta for the night (and then rush back to la barra when you're fed up with...

What we found was a perfect medium of comfort and affordability, very centrally located in labarra but still a couple of streets up from the action. Very clean and comfortable rooms, cute pool in the back, super friendly staff ... the owner Joao even cooked us a full parilla! Also, best breakfast of any place we went in uruguay (seriously, even better than Estancia Vik) and a kitchen where we could (finally!) cook some home made food ... top, top place where you can feel like home...
