The asset of this hostel is its location. It is only two blocks from the main bus terminal. The city center with main tourist attractions is within walking distance or a short taxi drive. There are few restaurants and bars within walking distance from the hostel.||The hostel is located in an old house on a fairly busy street. This was a very basic and quite run-down hostel. It looked like it was a work in progress… The main floor has reception, large dorm, private room three bathrooms, TV area, small courtyard and a small common kitchen. Upper floor had smaller dorms. On the ground level there was a common room with bar. This is where the breakfast was served as well. It was not a very pleasant room as it smelled of urine because the garage door leading onto the street were also used as a toilet for the intoxicated at night.||There were total of four bathrooms. Out of which only one I found usable. This was not a problem during my visit because I arrived during the low season ... The one bathroom upstairs had no water as the water pressure was low. Two bathrooms on the main floor were very small and somehow fitted sink, toilet and shower with electric water heater. There was barely enough space to change or remove your close, but there was nowhere to put it away. This only left one large bathroom next to the TV area that was usable.||My four bed dorm was good size with a window opening onto a hallway. Bed was comfortable. Linen was good, clean and white. I had to look for a clean pillow as most of them were very dirty. Lockers in the dorm were not usable as they couldn’t be locked. They had hardware that couldn’t accommodate any size of padlock. There were additional lockers on the ground floor. These lockers were very dirty, the room not locked and easily accessible from the street. ||Wi-Fi and a decent breakfast were also included in the room rate. ||The reception staff I found very hospitable, helpful and nice. ||I can only recommend this hostel to somebody who is looking for inexpensive accommodation, near the bus terminal and for a...
Read moreI stayed in this hostel a few days before the opening of the high season, and it was hardly clean, quite damp in some areas, with construction works going on in the street. The dorms are very rustic : old wooden beds, without lights, a fan that would be considered an antique, wooden lockers, dusty and very small for those located under the bed. The rooms are located all around the patio, so in case of late sleepers chatting around, it gets really hard to sleep. The common showers are very basic but ok, but there is only one toilet located next to the reception. The kitchen is too small, and missing basic equipment so given the potentiel number of hosts, you would have to queue to cook. Apart from that, the wifi is excellent, the owner are really nice and willing to help, and the place makes it easy to...
Read moreVery welcoming people. I only stayed for one night, arriving close to midnight and the staff all knew my name, were laughing, enjoying themselves and created a good atmosphere. Especially if you’re travelling by bus there is no need to go somewhere else. Had a decent breakfast and slowly made my way out, not being rushed by anyone.
A lot of reviews saying about bugs and cleanliness, yes there are bugs, but from what I gather of the area it’s close to impossible to prevent the insight and outside world mixing in an outdoorsy hostel. Didn’t get any mosquito bites which is all I care about. Perfect for a stopover and to feel welcomed (and treated like a human), would recommend....
