I stayed at the Nirvana 2 nights for a Corporate Event, it had been years since my last visit. The hotel has a particular heritage, it transports you to somewhere in Europe in the 50s. It is a very spacious and comfortable building with lots of social areas, including a cinema, a great restaurant and bar. It is great if you are around during good weather because the gardens are beautiful. In general everything is very well maintained. The rooms are very cozy, mine did not have a TV - which kind of goes with the relaxing intent of the hotel, but it something to consider. WiFi is relatively good and free. I cannot speak too much about the spa or other activities available, I know the hotel has plenty but I did not try them. For a business conference, I found it great as it has a lot of open spaces that are cozy and inviting. the conference rooms are very good and the service is great. Aside from business, I would definitely recommend this hotel for a quiet weekend or a few days of retreat. I was there during business days which is great because not many people stay, but in the weekend note that the hotel will be more crowded, and probably with a...
Read moreThe Hotel Nirvana Resort and Spa is an oasis away from the fray of modernity. Come here to decompress and get away from the maddening world. Regrettably, we could only stay for five nights but rest assured another visit down the road is already on the bucket list. The place transports you to another era in time. Elegant quaintness is the words that come to mind. There are no TVs in the rooms though WIFI is available, bathrooms are modern, and the food served is very European (French, Swiss, Spanish, and of course Uruguayan). Copious breakfast included. Immaculate gardens surround the hotel, two pools (inside and outdoors), gym all available and welcomed. Unlimited choice activities from horseback riding, tennis, bicycles available. Furniture and beds hark back to another point in history, all relaxing and comfortable. Something that you would find in the Swiss country-side. Staff are exceptional catering to all your needs. Worth every penny to stay at this oasis in the farming area of Uruguay and to plan visits to Colonia del Sacramento and the old town of Colonia. Not surprising cheeses and chocolates are produced...
Read moreLoved every minute of being in this hotel. The land it stands on is beautiful, where you can walk and explore the open space. The hotel is amazing, making you feel welcome as soon as you walk in. The building is well looked after but has kept the old farm feel which I loved. You can do so many different activities, walking swimming, tennis, football, horse riding and many more. It really is a hotel for the family as they have rooms full of children's toys, activities they even have people working to look after the kids whilst your doing whatever. The staff were all so helpful in looking after us when we needed help or weren't sure of something. At meal times they have a wide variety of food and all served fantasticly. You could not fault the restaurant staff. They helped translate any thing you didn't understand on the menu, kept topping your drinks up without you having to ask them too. Just a fantastic hotel that I would definitely...
