In two months of traveling in Brasil, Argentina and Uruguay our 4 night stay at El Diablo y El Mar was the most enjoyable stop. Nicolas and Veronica are personable, easy to like hosts who know what their quests appreciate and they deliver... open and quite ambiance, clean rooms, a tasty breakfast served on your deck space, good beds, hot showers, reliable wifi. If you are looking for suggestions and information re: Punta del Diablo and Montevideo, Nicolas is the man to ask. We had intended stay a couple nights and then find a place on the beach but El Diablo y El Mar was just too friendly and comfortable to leave and, as it turned out, we liked being slightly removed from the commercial activity closer to the water. Read moreThis place was fantastic! The owner met us at the front gate and was very friendly and helpful. We were there a bit early but he invited us to use the pool while we waited. Once we got into our room, we were thrilled. The room was beautiful and immaculate! We were a 5 min walk from Punta Viuja and a 20 min walk from Punta de los Pescadores. We chose to walk to Pescadores twice in a day because it seemed to be where the action was (restaurants, bars, shops). ||Breakfast was served but we decided to hit the road a bit early and when we checked out, the owner asked us what our route to Punta del Este was.
