Hotel Village Termas de Dayman Uruguay — Hotel in Termas del Daymán

We travelled here with our tour group G Adventures (GAP) as part of our journey from Rio de Janeiro to Buenos Aires. We only stayed one night in Salto as there is not a huge amount to do here apart from use the spas and massage places and eat a Uruguayan speciality - Chivito sandwich. ||||The accommodation was nice enough. Rooms are small but tidy. Shower was fine. There is a dining area where we could sit and have some drinks, chat and use the wifi which was free which was nice. ||||The staff were friendly and helpful. Plenty of supermakets and shops selling querky things near by. Its cool to see people walking the streets around here in their bath robes as they do a spot of shopping in between going to the spas!! ||||There is a nice italian restaurant nearby but the name escapes me. Reception will know. ||||Only other point to mention (not relating to the accommodation) is that the bank over the road from the hotel seemed to reject nearly all our cards which made getting cash out near impossible. Fuimos en semana de turismo, reservamos la ultima habitación ya sabiendo era pequeña y de camas separadas, ya fuimos predispuestos a donde íbamos o sea poca exigencia. Al llegar nos atiende el propietario el cual nos dice que la habitación era muy pequeña para tantos días....cosa que ya sabíamos, lo que pensamos nos iba a ofrecer algo mas grande, nos dice es una lastima....no entendimos el comentario innecesario totalmente. Al segundo día comenzó a hacer mas calor y nos percatamos que no teníamos frigobar, por lo cual mi esposa bajo a decirle si podía conseguirnos uno. El propietario en persona le responde que no tiene y que si veíamos las fotos veríamos no tenia.....en primer lugar en las fotos tiene, en segundo lugar como sabría por las fotos cual habitación nos iba a dar, en tercer lugar debería informarlo telefónicamente que fue como realizamos la reserva. Ofrece guardarnos la bebida en su heladera.....mi esposa le responde que si quiere agua de noche no va a bajar en pijama a buscarla. Al final y ofuscado nos dice que va a comprar uno nuevo ya que no tiene mas.....como si fuera nuestra culpa. Al rato nos da prestado uno de otra habitación, a la noche llegamos y teníamos el prestado y uno nuevo....no retiraron el prestado y nos dejaron los dos alli a modo de quien sabe que mensaje. Luego del incidente el duelo que era muy simpático con todos por ese simple hecho dejo de saludarnos, lo cual resulto incomodo en un hotel tan pequeño. Las habitaciones modestas, la mampara estaba mal asi que el baño se mojaba todo, el agua caliente de pronto se enfriaba debajo de la ducha. El cable no se veía nada, si tenia buen televisor. El desayuno bien para el hotel, tenia comida a buen precio, eso si la cocina estaba pegada a las habitaciones asi que el olor a aceite inundaba todo. This place was a very peaceful and homely place to stay. The rooms were very cosy and basic and the beds were very comfortable. The wifi was great and we got terrific signal sitting upstairs on the mezzanine floor. The shower was not easy to operate and we had to wait a long time to get hot water as you have to switch it on and it took 30 minutes to warm up. In all, this place is ok for staying 1 or 2 nights.
