We stayed at the hotel three nights (one night at the beginning of the trip and two nights at the end). The hotel is very far from the city center and less suitable for those who want to spend time in Tashkent. On the other hand, due to its proximity to the airport and train station, it is very suitable for those who Tashkent is a transit station for other destinations in Uzbekistan (as was our case). The rooms were spacious and equipped with everything including a hairdryer, USB ports and even a bidet in the bathroom. Internet connection was very good.||The first room had poor maintenance marks like a missing cabinet handle and a broken floor of the shower basin. The other room was normal. The walls of the rooms are decorated with many decorations (hand made!), And the floor (in the lobby and the bathroom) is also decorated (most of the hotels I have stayed-in in Uzbekistan have been over-decorated, preferring a more minimalist design - but it is a matter of taste).||The hotel staff was sympathetic, there was always a representative who spoke quite fluent English, and we received whatever help we asked for.||On the roof of the hotel there are seating areas and a restaurant where breakfast is served which was fine and included the basis of local meals: egg, fruit vegetables, drinks and pastries. In addition you can order food and drink at any time - the service is reasonable.||We were not satisfied with the hotel's shuttle service. We ordered four trips (twice to the airport, once from the airport and once from the train station), none of them arrived...
Read moreWe were impressed by the room provided to us, quite spacious and actually meant for 3 people. The double bed was humongous.
The bath+toilet was fantastic - we were provided with ample towels and toiletries. The bath area is a transparent sliding door setup and the toilet is an automatic sensor-based installation.
The breakfast is on the top floor, buffet-style with a decent number of options. The hotel agreed to store our luggage for a few hours, something which we had requested earlier.
The WiFi was one of the best we used during our Uzbekistan trip. The hotel also provided an airport pick-up service for $5.
The location isn't too great, there aren't any shops/restaurants around. It is, however, quite close to the airport and...
Read moreThe Hon Saroy is a lovely hotel on the outskirts of Tashkent city. The service here is impeccable, great rooms and good breakfast. The staff are so personable and helpful, and the Japanese style toilets a winner with my travelling companions. The problem is it's distance, a 15 min taxi ride into the city, but Tashkent with its Russian design and large tree lined boulevards is a city where taxis, super cheap, are somewhat of a necessity anyway. The only drop of a star here for this great hotel is the difficulty in negotiating a return fare, because of the distance out of the city centre. The train station and airport are also in the southern area of Tashkent, so no...
