I had a really excellent experience at this local, family owned hotel over two nights. The owners and their family are very friendly, hospitable, and welcoming - making you feel like a wanted guest, not just a paying customer. Extending their friendliness to my dog as well... a very pet friendly hotel! Located near the ocean and overlooking a small river inlet (with traditional fishing boats), they are also situated close to many cafes, local restaurants, street food vendors, and a Winmart, and walking distance to the some main streets (with shopping and banks available). The only slight downside is that there is limited space for motorbike parking (outside on their sidewalk area and/or across the road) and even less for cars (only across the road). The room assigned to me was clean, air-conditioned, and had a small private balcony (with two chairs), along with a small private bathroom, too. The room was not very large, though big enough for me and my dog, plus luggage. The room was equipped with a queen sized, comfortable bed (soft yet supportive, with a 4 out of 10 on the firmness scale = perfect for a good night's sleep), a flatscreen TV, a pedestal fan, a small table with chairs, and a bedside table. The bathroom was also clean with good hot water from the shower (though limited due to the heating reservoir size). Due to the hotel's roadside situation (and my room overlooking the road), I was quite surprised how quiet it actually was, especially in the morning (and I love sleeping in to 9-10am...I'm not on any scheduled holidays I'm retired and a bohemian traveller - so i have all the time in the world and do things at my own pace!!) The only small negative thing about the room was not having a fridge, but you can use the one located in their lobby/reception area. The hotel does not boast an elevator, and stairs are the only option for accessing the floors. (They only have 3 levels for accommodation... and the owners will gladly assist with your luggage if you need help.) WiFi is freely available throughout the property with a reasonably good and constant signal strength. Noting that the property is not new nor modern, but it is adequate, functional, and very comfortable overall...plus the friendliness of the owners incite good feelings. Great hotel close to all shops and entertainment. The owners are very friendly and accomodating. Hot showers and clean rooms. Quilt and bedsheets warm and cosy. I’d recommend this place over others...
