Unbearable cigarette smoke goes from one room to the other with doors shut affecting well being and sleep!
In general the hotel looked nice and had everything one would need, located right in the river bank and above a small mall. The room was spacious and clean. The Spa and gym were also very nice and well maintained! For that I would give 5 stars.
However, even though the amenities were good, there were was one major real disappointments that needs to be shared and addressed by hotel management for all future guests! We booked a non-smoking room, but after the first night we smelled cigarette smoke in our room and also on the hallway. Thus addressed the issue at the reception and they wanted to check it, also providing us the information that there are only non smoking rooms. However, next day we smelled the smoke again in the late afternoon & evening hours and found out that riggt across the hallway there was a smoking guest room, where one guest apparently smoked cigarettes the whole time. Due to the fact that both his and our hotel room doors had roughly 5cm space beneath it the smoke could easily pass through and into our room, which was just disgusting!
During our stay we found out that there were less than 30 guests in the hotel, since there was no breakfast buffet (information provided by front desk). So here is a hint for the hotel management: If your occupancy is at around 5-10% of full capacity, then please just don’t put smokers and non smokers right across the hallway when there are several other rooms per floor or even full floors empty! Or as another option, just make specified full smoking zones/floors where all rooms are for smokers! Thereby, you won’t have these issues of customers being really unsatisfied and having a bad time staying in your hotel due to disgusting cigarette smoke!
And yes, I get it that the past couple of years were really hard on the tourist industry around the world and in Vietnam probably as well. However, we are talking about the health of your customers that is unwillingly being affected.
Thus in total I can only give 2 stars and that being nice, since the smoking issue just...
