I thoroughly enjoyed my 7 day stay at Le Soleil Boutique Hotel, Dalat. Vietnam, cozy, comfortable and tastefully decorated.
The rooms are hygienically clean, lift service, timber flooring with drinking water and a kettle. Importantly this boutique hotel is true to its name, the reception area has a warm ambience, furnished for guest to sit and relax, the patio area has Parasols Umbrella where you can sit and read or enjoy your meal. You can order food and drinks from the annex restaurant an extension of this hotel.
Location wise Le Soleil is off the main road, peace and quiet most of the time. Although its in Phuong/ Ward 8, it is easy to Grab your way around by car or bike, to the town centre. I used to walk in the mornings to Lake Xuan Huong. Le Soleil's excellent customer service is headed by Sunny, this lady and her team are ready to accommodate your request.
Dalat, the French Colonial choice for cool resort is still very present both in spring like weather, architecture and coffee/ baguette.
Dalat's lakes especially by Lake Xuan Huong ( central location) & spring like temperatures even in June, is the place, if you want time for yourself to reflect and refresh, except during the weekends, too many local tourists come to enjoy Dalat's cool temperature and serenity.
Their Hoa THONG Brewery and restaurant is a must visit, excellent local beers, it reminded me of the beers in Belgium. They also serve it with Crisp fried corn / snacks from the bar. Just be alert when you eat at the smaller local eateries. Do ask for the menu and confirm the price of what you order. Do use the Hop on and Hop off tourist bus service at a fare to visit places of...

Booked a hotel room and got confirmed by the hotel. I drove 4 hours from Nha Trang to Da Lat and at the last minute (3:30pm) they called that the hotel was full and that they made a mistake. Now it’s Saturday 3:30pm and almost everything is fully booked. They didn’t even apologize or talk about refunding my money as my credit card was already charged.
Thanks for the reply, my review was written after your staff called us and before you sent us a message. So I would like to clarify for the people reading this post that the management did indeed send apologies for the situation and found a different hotel for us to stay. However at the time we got the message we had already booked a different hotel. We didn’t cut the connection however, we only received the message to which we forgot to reply after we were tired from the drive and finally in a hotel. The reason for the 1 star review was because your staff that called us was rude to us on the phone as if we made a mistak and didn’t apologize at all for the situation. Then after my girlfriend said that her attitude was really poorly and deserved a 1*, she changed her attitude and apologized for the first time.
After the message you sent us and the response you gave to my review I agree that my initial rating was harsh. Therefore I’m changing my review to 3 stars. That the hotel got overbooked happens, but it would have been nice to be informed sooner than 3pm and with at least some compassion...
Read moreThe building is like an old-style European villa, very pretty inside, too, looks and feels like a cozy big living room. There is a very comfortable sofa, even a hearth for a fire of wood blocks. Oh yes, and there is a reception, to register 😊. Everything, the building, the furniture, the design, everything oozes quality. The owner has a very good taste. And there are even really nice paintings on the walls ! The stairs -if you do not want to take the elevator 😁- is of a beautiful wood. The floors of the rooms, too, are parquet, top quality. The taps, of the water basin, in the shower, are copper. The bed has a 15cm thick mattress, very comfortable. There is a water boiler made of glass and Lipton tea bags. And a big flat LCD tv. It is a family-built and -run hotel, the service is very personal, totally friendly and hospitable, so much more than normal hotels. We had 4 rooms, and stayed 2 nights. There are some points for improvement, however. (1) There are often strong winds in Da Lat. The pipes of the rain drainage are not firmly attached and make a lot if noise, not nice for a good sleep. (2) The system of hot water is not adequate. In the afternoon, evening, there is hot water and one can have a nice shower. But in the morning there isn't any hot water anymore, not even warm.(3) There is no heating in the rooms, in the winter season it is almost impossible...
