Mo Stay Forest Resort in Dalat is a hidden treasure among Vietnam's resorts, offering unmatched value for money. Alongside my other favorite, the ALBA Wellness Resort in Hue, it stands out—but if your goal is to immerse yourself in a serene forest setting, this is highly recommended.
Nestled deep within a lush forest, Mo Stay lives up to its name as a true forest resort. The property is surrounded by towering pine trees, their needles whispering in the cool mountain breeze, and offers well-maintained hiking trails that allow you to fully connect with nature. Small, thoughtfully placed buildings blend seamlessly into the landscape, creating a sense of harmony that transported me back to my youth exploring temperate forests like California’s majestic redwoods.
The architecture and design exceeded my expectations. The accommodations were impeccably maintained, with everything functioning as seamlessly as you’d expect in a top-tier, 5-star hotel. Each building houses four private units and includes a shared common area and an outdoor fire pit. Our evenings included making s'mores at the fire pit next to our villa, and enjoying the crisp night air.
Service at Mo Stay was exceptional. The staff’s efficiency and attentiveness stood out, from the quick arrival of buggies (faster than at most luxury resorts) to the butler and reception team’s responsiveness to every request. Everything about the resort’s operations felt incredibly well-managed.
One memorable experience was the guided hiking tour to the Orange Grove, which concluded with a fascinating visit to the resort’s organic farm. The tour was well-paced, informative, and highly enjoyable—an absolute must for nature enthusiasts.
Located next to the Sivananda Yoga Retreat Center, Mo Stay offers a tranquil, remote setting far from the bustle of Dalat’s city center. Its proximity to outdoor attractions like strawberry farms, Bao Dai Villa, and the Datanla adventure area (featuring a rope course, zip lines, and an alpine coaster) makes it an ideal base for exploration.
For those seeking a forest retreat with the comfort and service of a luxury resort, Mo Stay Forest Resort is truly...
Read moreMost people travel to Dalat for the cooler weather and beautiful scenery to relax in. So, if you go, then why stay in the city? The resort is about 30 minutes away from the center of the city. During our 4 day stay, we spent half a day seeing the sights in Dalat city. Frankly, that was enough. ||The resort has several villas, each with multiple rooms with its own bath. There are some nice common living spaces. This makes it ideal for traveling as a family or group. But it is still nice as a couple to have access to the semi-private areas outside your room (don’t miss the hangout space on the rooftop). Each room has a gorgeous minimalist interior with high-end bathroom fittings. However, the main attraction is the view of the pine forest. ||The resort caters to families, so sometimes the serenity of the peaceful setting is interrupted by kids having fun. Now that my own kids are grown up, I covet more the calm that nature brings. ||The staff are earnest, and kind, although somewhat inexperienced. This will improve since the resort is so new. Their inexperience is forgivable, given their charm and how they reflect the owners’ strong commitment to the environment and the nearby community. They have a concierge system communicating with guests by messaging. This makes all hotel arrangements (like questions or dinner reservations) easy and feels like personal attention. ||The food is terrific with western and Asian cuisine. For a relatively small boutique resort, the breakfast was varied, delicious, and freshly cooked. And the beautiful views you have while eating would make anything taste better. The food in the main restaurant was excellent, and weather permitting, the outdoor seating was very romantic. We especially loved the produce grown organically on their own farm. ||Overall, this new hotel should be almost everyone’s choice in Dalat. It is a great value (although it is one of the more expensive places in Dalat, it is still quite reasonable). Definitely worth the visit and we hope to...
Read moreIf you love nature, you will definitely like to stay in this beautiful resort. It is a villa style where there are 4 rooms. If you choose the terrace, you will be given the ground floor. The other 3 will be on the second floor. You will have a shared living room and a kicthen when you enter the villa main door. The terrace room is very spacious, big & comfy bed and pillows. Toilet is clean and shower water pressure is acceptable though not very strong. First time seeing a ceiling heater above the bathtub. There maybe a “urine” smell due to poor ventilation in the toilet. Do flush the toilet bowl before using as i found a spider upon flushing. ||There are power points at both bed sides and they are using 2pins plug. Do bring your own adapter. There is no TV and aircon. Would suggest requesting the tower stand fan else it may be abit hot. Also good for air circulation. There is an air purifier provided. Thankfully Wifi is strong else your own data may not have reception.||Breakfast may not have many varieties but they are delicious. Though it starts at 7am, do give them 10-15mins allowance to setup. Do try their dinner at the restaurant where you can take the buggy there. Just a short distance and the food are all very delicious. The ambience is very nice and i simply love the burning wood which help to keep you warm. Love the wood burning smell too. You may get to try their homegrown vegetables. ||If you are first timer in Dalat, i would not recommend to stay here first. As it is abit far city, you may want to book 8 hours private car service to bring you around.||Lastly, they have excellent service where they will constant communicate with you via whatsapp about their meal promo and activities. Will be good if more of their staff can speak and understand simple English. Encourage you to join the organic Farm tour. Very nice walking through the forest surrounded by pine trees and you get to see their homegrown vegetables...
