Rừng Thông Mơ (a.k.a. Mơ Restautant) is the most phenomenal atmosphere. Situated on the side of a hill in the forest, it is just so relaxing. Its probably the nicest resort restaurant I’ve been to in Vietnam in terms of the atmosphere, and the service matches what you would expect at Four Seasons Nam Hai, Amanoi and similar places.
We were staying at the Mơ Stay Forest resort and dined at this restaurant 2 of our 3 evenings in Dalat.
A series of small pavilions in the forest, each pavilion has just 1-2 tables and its own fireplace. So the dining experience is private and quiet. With a cool breeze in the air, very quiet music, and surrounded by magnificent trees, it’s an unbelievably pleasant dining experience.
The service is attentive and outstanding. They were patient and friendly. There seems to be 1 server per 2 tables and the server is always standing at a nearby station and paying attention. We had several special requests which were well handled – including ordering Canh Ga Chien Nuoc Mam, which is not on the menu, but was excellently prepared.
In terms of good quality, they provide great attention to detail for both food and drinks. The Soda Chanh (lemon soda) was much more of a crafted drink than the typical Soda Chanh - it included a lot of crushed lime, aloe vera chunks, a delicious Vietnamese mint leaf called Chocolate Mint and was just delicious so we had to keep reordering it.
The food is high-quality and we especially enjoyed the salads. My only request would be to add more Vietnamese food and more vegetable dishes given they grow the vegetables right there at their organic farm, which we had visited earlier in the day. There is also a large playground for children. This is good both for families and romantic dinners.
Rừng Thông Mơ is at or above the standard of the best restaurants at 5 star resorts in Vietnam, yet our total dinner bills were around VND1.5 million for a family of 4, which is also great...
Read moreFirst of all I would say that the taste quite nice and the food are good looking even I just take a few dish. If the owner reading this I should give some sugguestions to enhance the qualities also the foods. The caesar salad dressing amazing but would be perfect if you using Romaine lettuce and crippy bacon on it. The croutons better taste with garlic olive oil French fries the skin must be crippy and soft inside but your restaurant false do it I dont know you guys fried whole punch then heat it up with microware or something please serve them right away after fried !!!!! Bolognese Spagetti your chef need to learn again how to cook it. Frist time I see bolognese spagetti have a such water like this. Im asking Tabasco pepper sause but the staff said ran out. The pricey and high standard restaurant should well manage their source! The weather Dalat freeze so the food easy getting cold to enhance the warm time you guys should keep the kitchen ware (plate, bowl…) warm all the time when food touch plate that heat plate will keep the food getting cold then reheat again with electric oven. So the food can extreme hot to the table. Just imagine nothing perfect serving hot dish in the cold...
Read morethis place is gorgeous and a serene place of tranquility. i loved the tall pine trees everywhere and the ambience and design is simply magical.
however, the food could be better. the beef steak tasted like it was thawed from frozen, with a bad meat smell that we could not finish it. the biscuit parts of the dessert were also soft and hard to chew instead of crunchy-i think it had to do with the humidity and that those parts were prepared in advance. the fruit burrata salad and the salmon we had to order to make up for the steak were good tho.
i would have given the feedback about the food directly to the restaurant, but nobody ever asked to check on how the food was, despite seeing we didn’t finish most of the steak. so hospitality and service can definitely be improved.
overall the place is worth a visit simply because of how beautiful it is to take a walk around the premises, but i sincerely hope the food quality and...
