Hallo Hotel — Hotel in Hạ Long City

Hallo Hotel is very much off the general tourist radar but it really shouldn't be. I suppose most visitors to Ha Long are there for a cruise and are on some sort of package deal and never actually stay in a hotel in the city. We were there to enjoy Sunworld Water Park and Dragon Amusement park and needed a place to stay. Hallo's friendly and welcoming staff found a room for us at the last minute and made us feel very much at home. ||||We had a large corner room on the top floor with beautiful views down toward the beach - no we could not see the water. But the room was big, the beds were comfortable and the bathroom was clean and modern. The room had a smart TV too so we could watch YouTube and Netflix in the evening. ||||While there is no breakfast at the hotel, there are tons of great local restaurants in the neighborhood. And, the hotel staff shared some really great recommendations with us. And, while the hotel isn't on the beach, it is about a 1.5-2 km walk to the beach. This is my worst hotel. No water control in the shower. Hotel staff is insincere, only talking back to guests. Good...
