We got the deluxe beachfront room. The view is partly blocked by some buildings but you can still see the view of the ocean. There’s a kettle to boil water for some coffee or tea, and mini fridge to store food and drinks. No microwave though.
The staff goes above and beyond to make sure you are happy and comfortable. At my first night, the bed would creak if I turned or moved around. I guess it’s just old? We told the receptionist about it the next day, and they replaced the mattress and frame right away. Now the bed is super comfortable and quiet.
You have the option to book tours with the hotel staff if you want to. Ask for Hoa! He speaks decent English and gives good tips on where to go.
Staff is super responsive and they speak some English, enough to communicate with us just fine. I do feel that the staff are overworked as they seem to be doing everything around the hotel. From cleaning, cooking, reception, etc. So please be patient and kind. They do their utmost best to help.
The only minor downsides are that the wifi is not that stable and it was hard for us to find where it was located at first. We got there at night and the trees in front were lit up and blocking the hotel sign.
Also because it’s low season right now, there was no breakfast service (even for an extra cost). The staff did offer to cook a meal when we asked but we didn’t want them to use the kitchen only for us. So for breakfast, we walked for 10 min every day to get banh mis for breakfast. We personally love banh mi dan...
Read moreWe're so glad we chose Indotel Halong Hotel for our Ha Long Bay vacation. The room was with balcony where we can see the city and partial sea. Yes, it is very clean, and comfortable, with a well-kept bathroom. We especially loved the rooftop with a stunning view of Ha Long City. The reception staff spoke English and was incredibly helpful with local tips and arranging transportation. The hotel's location is perfect—close to Bai Cay Beach, restaurants, and the city. Highly recommend Indotel for anyone visiting Ha Long Bay....
Read moreThe rooms are clean and the a/c cold. Our two nights were quiet and relaxing. There is a great coffee shop downstairs within the building. Don't forget to go to the 6th floor for great views of the bay. What really separates this hotel is the Manager, Hoa. He is a kind and patient gentleman who goes above and beyond the call of service. Sending love...
