We recently stayed at this hotel and while there were some positives, overall it didn’t live up to what was advertised.
The lobby makes a strong first impression, but behind the scenes the reality is quite different. Rusty screws by the pool and an abandoned Sky Bar area on the 18th floor gave the hotel a neglected feel. The Sky Bar itself was closed, and the upstairs restaurant only served breakfast despite being advertised otherwise. This left very limited options: the pool had no bar or service, and the downstairs restaurant was clearly geared toward large tour groups — we were even seated at a table for ten. After dinner, there was nowhere on-site to relax with a drink.
The outdoor area also felt more residential, with very few nearby restaurants or alternatives. Amenities fell short too: towels were poor quality, our shower leaked across the bathroom floor, and although a sign by the pool said guests couldn’t bring their own refreshments, there was nowhere nearby to purchase any.
Communication was also a challenge. We didn’t expect all staff to speak English, but even with a translation app and written requests, there was frequent confusion, which at times left us feeling unwelcome as individual travelers.
On the positive side, the staff were polite and tried their best to assist. The hotel was clean and tidy, our room was a good size with a nice view, and laundry service was impressively quick.
In short, while the basics were fine, many of the advertised amenities simply weren’t available, and the hotel seems more focused on catering for large events than creating a welcoming experience for...
