Hotel Lac Long — Hotel in Hải Phòng

To start off, this isn't a very touristy city, however we decided to have a leg of our monthlong trip based here regardless. When we first arrived we were fresh off a boat and desperately needed to get laundry done. It quickly became apparent that the laundry service at the hotel was more geared towards Businessmen needing a suit pressed as opposed to a couple needing a week's worth of clothes cleaned. After talking with the front desk staff they worked to call a nearby launders and arranged for them to come and get our laundry and bring it back the next morning! Can't begin to say how grateful we are for this!!!||||They also made it easy to book a car to the airport, and have I mentioned the breakfast?? That soup they serve is amazing!!! The rooms are also very comfortable and the channels even included a number of English speaking ones, which came in handy the night I got very sick and couldn't leave my room (not the hotels fault). ||||Thank you so much to the very friendly and helpful staff...

To be fair:||- the room was pleasant||- it was well equipped with bathrobe, safe and fridge||- it was clean||||Bad points:||- it's not in a very nice neighbourhood||- the menu for lunch/dinner is very uncreative in terms of Western food and incredibly expensive||- I ordered a pizza and a mango juice. The pizza took around 25 mins to arrive and was exactly 4.5 inches across. It was the equivalent of one slice of pizza. It was also half cold, and it had been slopped onto the plate so half the topping was congealed on the side.||- This feast cost over $10 USD (including tax) for one slice of pizza and a mango juice and was carelessly and sloppily served.||- Honestly they should be ASHAMED. A local dish would probably cost 1.50-3.00 USD on the street. I understand it's a hotel, but this shows lack of care and an exorbitant price for such...

I stayed one night at the hotel. They don't have twin room (two single bed) and asked us to pay more for family room with one double and one extra bed. The room is small and full of smoking smell. The air-conditioner is leaking and water dropped to the room floor. I called the reception and one bell man came but he could do nothing and put one towel on the floor to absorb the leaking water. Next morning I told the receptionist and they said that they could not do anything because it was late (9:30pm). They did not say sorry or had any action to answer my feedback. Never come back and recommend anyone...
