ENSO Retreat Hoi An - Rediscovery & Serenity — Hotel in Hội An

Absolutely fantastic 5-day stay at this wonderful resort. It lives up to its name as a retreat resort. My family and I traveled 3 months this year: Hawaii, Australia, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, Thailand, and Vietnam. Some hotels were more than $1000/night. ENSO Retreat is one of the best resort hotels that we have been to as far as Price/Value/Quality stay.

Let's start with the resort itself. It is a short drive for all the hustle and bustle of Hội An Old Town. The hotel offers free shuttle bus to Hội An Old Town and An Bang Beach.

We chose this resort because we wanted to "retreat" to some quiet family time. This property is well-designed and very well-kept (see attached photos). We love the greenery around the property. Very peaceful and relaxing. My daughter loved the big pool right in front of our room. The property earned an easy 5 star rating.

As for our room, it is beautifully designed. It gives you a feeling of the old countryside with its red-brick walls, which matches the uniqueness of the city Hội An itself. The room was very clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the AC was nice and cool. Another easy 5 star rating for the room.

Our booking had breakfasts included. The breakfast buffet offered good choices of Vietnamese dishes. I especially loved the Cao Lầu, 3 bowls in one sitting 😊. Very good variety of fresh fruits and juices. Pastries are better than most hotels we have been to. My daughter absolutely loved the mini Danish. Coffee is good and strong. I would like to extend my appreciation to Ms. Vy at the dining room. She is very attentive and helpful. A 5 star rating for the food and good service (I opened and managed 11 restaurants, 147 employees in 18 years in the US, so I know a thing or two about customer service)

Now, let's see how ENSO's staff performed during our stay. Everyone greeted us with a friendly smile: the gardener, the housekeeper, the shuttle bus driver, and front desk staff. It showed that they appreciate my business. Ms. Duong Trang did a wonderful job of keeping us up-to-date with our booking. I would also like to extend my appreciation to Ms. Thao and Ms. Ly for the wonderful recommendations, insights, and services.

What really sets ENSO apart from all other hotels is the staff. Everyone is willing to go out of their ways to make sure that you have a wonderful stay. Every request is done promptly with care. We really appreciate that. An absolute 10 star for ENSO staff.

We will definitely return to ENSO on our next trip to Hội An.

Exceptional Staff and Service From the moment we arrived at Enso Retreat until our departure, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and well cared for. Their warmth and attention to detail were truly exceptional. Even after checking out, we were allowed to take a shower after spending our last hours at the beach, and a shuttle from the retreat came to pick us up — a gesture that we deeply appreciated.

They also organized our airport transfer seamlessly. While we waited, we were served delicious tea and offered refreshing cold towels — a thoughtful touch, especially in the warm weather.

Rooms and Cleanliness Our room was spotless and the bathroom was spacious, modern, and equally clean. Housekeeping was consistent and meticulous, ensuring a very comfortable stay.

Breakfast and Dining Breakfast was included in our stay and featured a generous selection of both Western and Vietnamese dishes, all freshly prepared. As someone with a seafood allergy, I was incredibly impressed by the care the staff took every morning — they proactively approached me to inform me of any dishes I should avoid. I didn’t even have to ask — they recognized me and were always kind and attentive.

The buffet offered a wide variety of choices, with plenty of vegetarian-friendly options as well. I also noticed how the staff made sure that other guests were well informed about the ingredients in traditional dishes — a sign of true hospitality.

Amenities and Location Enso Retreat offers a free shuttle service to both the Old Town and the beach. The drivers were always punctual and drove safely and conscientiously. The retreat itself is a serene haven, perfect for relaxing and recharging. The prices are more than fair for the quality of service and amenities provided.

Free bicycles were also available, and we enjoyed a lovely ride to the beach. There’s also the option to take a tour through the rice fields, though we didn’t try that ourselves. The staff are very helpful with organizing day trips and providing local recommendations.
