Our stay at Little Mai Cháu was the highlight of our honeymoon to Vietnam and we cannot recommend it enough! The family have been in the same part of Mai Cháu for four generations and have several private bungalows spread between their family homes. Our hosts were so kind and thoughtful, breakfast was delicious (especially the egg sandwiches and fresh fruit), the room was better than expected with AC and a fan and large shower, and they arranged an extra adventure to Pu Lượng. The stay includes bicycles (which were amazing to use to tour the whole town of Mai Cháu). We stayed in Mai Cháu at the beginning of October during the harvest festival and while the rice fields were turning gold and beginning to be harvested. I am in my second trimester of pregnancy and this was no problem at all during our stay, the food was delicious and there was always clean water available to fill our own bottles or to buy. We hope to return with our baby once they arrive! Thank you so much to everyone in the Little Mai Cháu family for making our honeymoon so...
Read moreI wish I had more stars to give to Huong and her family! The experience was amazing, the location is so close to everything, you can bike everywhere and you get to sleep over the rice paddies, it's truly a dream come true. We chose the private bungalow, it was very very clean, the bed was 100% comfortable, with AC and ventilator. Breakfast is included, with choice between banh mi bread with eggs, pancakes or soup. We also had the change to taste lunch and dinner, and it's 100% worth it. The food is amazing, all local and fresh. We also tried some restaurants in the area but we truly prefer the food we had at the homestay.
The service is one of a kind, they don't rush you into getting extra services, they just offer them, we used the bikes, motorbikes, and they arranged our transfer to our next stop in our trip. They also guided us to visit caves and waterfalls by ourselves.
I feel so grateful for having the experience of spending two nights here, the family and the other guests created a very warm ambience, thanks so much again for...
Read moreWe had a great time at the homestay! So remote, quiet and relaxing. We spent three nights here and could have easily stayed longer. The host is very friendly and helpful and had good suggestions for day trips. We contacted them on Facebook and they picked us up from town. The included breakfast was great (tea, coffee as much as you want, a lot of fresh fruit, and then choice between banana pancakes (more like crêpes, my personal favourite), eggs with baguette and noodle soup (a bit too salty)). The view from the dorm balcony is so nice. You can rent bicycles for free and scooters are 150k per day. The super tasty communal dinner is 80k per person and totally worth it. It was so much that we could never finish it all. Free water refills which is a great way to reduce plastic waste. It was just a little too hot when we were there and the dorms just had fans, plus the mattress was a bit too hard, but you get used to it. Amazing value and a great escape from the city, hope to come again...
