The bungalows are located at the end of LAC Village, so be aware that if you happen to book a transfer Hanoi-Mai Chau, it will not drop you off at the hotel. From the main road you can take a motorbike or a taxi (although the taxi found it difficult to get there, because of the very small-narrow paths).||The place is quite, rustic and very simple. The bungalows are as shown in the pictures: mosquito net, fan, small balcony, ensuite bathroom. Everything was clean. Bed was comfortable. Shower worked properly. Nevertheless the balcony and bungalow door did not close completely, although you are given a lock, the doors simply don't fit.||||They let you bicycles to explore the area and a very basic map with the main spots.||Breakfast consisted of coffee and eggs&toast. You can also order dinner. Although I didn't, other guests told me it was abundant and tasty.||||The place is quiet, cheap, peculiar ... but I would say there is nothing special about it. ||Do not expect to interact or get to know anything about their owners and their lifestyle. The family is nice and always showing a smile, but you will find only accommodation. They do not speak English and there is no thing such as Reception desk, so should you need information, call a taxi, or even pay & check out ... you may not...
Read moreI stayed here for 2 nights along with 4 other adult family members. Very nice staff who cooked us a meal on our arrival approx 10pm. The rooms are in a state of disrepair. One of our daughters room was next to the workers who started well before 5 am. The other daughters room had a sloped bathroom floor that you could clearly see the sky through where the walls were falling apart. We were moved the second night due to a rain storm. Obviously it leaked badly but we were moved prior to the rain. Our second room had a great outlook over the rice fields but the balcony was dangerous with slats missing on the floor. The hand basins in all 4 rooms leaked and one of the toilets leaked as well. The cost of accommodation was comparable to other accommodation we had stayed. Staff friendly despite the language barriers and meals were nice. Entertainers came for a show that was held upstairs in a nice room. They organised private transport to the airport at Hanoi which made the transfer easy for us. Lovely surroundings which we...
Read moreStayed at Mai Chau farmstay with myself and a friend in the bungalow. No AC but was definitely good enough with the fan at night. The lady running the place was lovely, and although she spoke little English, she was eager to help as we communicated via google translate. They have free bicycles for rent, a decent breakfast included (3 slices of bread and 2 fried eggs, tea and coffee), and dinner for 100,000 a head. While that may be on the more expensive side we found it well worth it as her family helps cook up dish after dish, which you can enjoy with a top up of rice! We caught the public bus from Hanoi which dropped us out on the main road by Mai Chau Lodge. Just be warned that unless you don't mind walking 30 or so minutes to the Farmstay, there will most likely be a golf cart waiting for you (kind of like the villages taxi service) and be prepared to pay around 100,000 or however lower you can get it. But overall, stunning view, lovely family, and some peace and quiet away from the hustle and...
