The only reason I would recommend going there is if you go by motorbike and drive around the area. There are mangroves, a monkey forest and some beautiful scenery. With regard to the resort, the only two good things are the pool which is pretty big although maintenance is bad and the night market opposite which can dish out some really tasty seafood.||||As far as everything else goes, getting there on your own is pretty much a hassle even if it's not that complicated or long (it basically involves a bus from Pham Ngu Lao station, a short ferry ride and then bus 90 to the resort). There is also a direct option but it has ridiculous hours such as 4:30 am for the return... In any case, make sure you get the help of a Vietnamese before you embark on this trip.||||Now for the bad which is pretty much everything else, the only thing reception seems to really care about is keeping your passport. Besides this, they spoke no English, did little to help, would not change money, rent or even try to help with renting a motorbike, and were basically rather unfriendly (even the Vietnamese who accompanied thought so). Oh, and the resort is more than 1 km away from the main street and no one offers to pick you up when you arrive, even if you call. Motorbikes will probably show up and offer to "help" at an inflated rate. They certainly have a lot to learn about customer service or making this place remotely interesting for foreigners, but this is clearly not part of their objectives.||||What else? Included breakfast was a joke (we simply skipped it the following day) and although I've seen worse maintenance, the rooms are pretty bad and old. Oh, and room service cleans when THEY feel like it, in our case they knocked on our door at 8:45 am basically telling us to leave so they could clean the room. ||||Most importantly and sadly, the beach is dirty not to say disgusting. First off, there is a gigantic wall that covers a road between it and the resort, and then you do get across to the beach you see that people throw garbage everywhere and that the hotel makes no cleaning effort whatsoever. As a result, you pretty much need shoes to walk around safely and if you want to swim you have to use the pool. ||||There is clearly a reason why everyone prefers Vung tau, but it is quite unfortunate because with a bit of effort and a lot of cleaning this could be a pleasant beach and really pleasant...
Read moreQuaint, very very very isolated place, stayed 3 days.||||Ive tried three times to write this review, hmmmm||||Its a 1 to 2 star hotel||||The hotel is ok at best, nice staff (non English), nice grounds, nice breakfast area overlooking the big pool. Nice warm pool. The Photos over sell the place.||||The bad, breakfast area Saturday and Monday was Asian soup and I begged for a coffee, Sunday the place was a packed Smorgasbord with bus trippers and young couple getting away for the night and seafood on the beach front.||||Tennis courts were run down not for use, pay for a game of pool, gym is a stationary bike and a treadmill, they hire bikes but don't use them on the road you can get fined.||||The room had luke warm water at best, and no Wifi. (Wifi at pool and restaurant was great).||||I wanted to keep this review to just the hotel....BUT... There is nothing at Can Gio to want to stay more that 1 night, ||||Monkey, Crocodile, Boat run is a rip off, promised 1 hour 30 trip, your done in 45 min 6000,00 dong a boat is crazy, Staff very unhelpful, overpriced||||Goods Market is a few shops that wont barter, Seafood Market will barter good.||||From what i could tell there are 4 separate places to eat across from the hotel but there all mixed together with red plastic chairs and tables so wait till they come to you to with the menu. food is nice and cheap, don't touch the animals.||||Seafood on the beach is a deck chair / small plastic chair and table experience but very nice and soooo cheap, barter per kg for your seafood or walk next door to the next restaurant or buy your own at the seafood market and they will cook it for a price. Your expected to drop what you don't eat on the ground my Gf loved it, me im a clean...
Read moreI write this report to let people think twice before staying here. ||||Facilities is ok for me, because i just stayed there for 1 night only. But i can say that you cannot feel safety because all people who don't stay in resort can go into rooms area of resort from beach and restaurant.||||There are 4 families including mine spent 1 night there on 13 Feb 2016. All of us lost some properties due to very bad security of Can Gio Resort but they tried to decline all responsibility. After 4 hours to wait for them to find duty person and having police’s investigation plus 1 hour to discuss with Vice Director. At 11pm, he gave us a coupon of 30% discount for next use as he said is "supporting". But the problem that everyone can have that coupon if stay there within these days. So that means they tried to cheat us. More over, they even did not give us a drop of water while waiting for them.||||Finally, they gave us 30% discount from bare room charge, which is nothing in comparison with 5 hours we have been waiting and working with them until late (not including properties we have lost) ||||Also, they charge me 20,000vnd for car parking. I never have been charged this kind of fee from all the hotels or resorts which i have use. It is funny.||||I WILL NEVER USE THEIR SERVICE FOR NEXT...
