This place discriminates against foreign tourists, depending on their nationality and passport color. After living in Sài Gòn for 5 years, this place didn't allow me to stay, even after booking and paying. It's been the only time I have been rejected to stay due to "visa issues." If you're a foreigner and consider staying at this place, think twice. You might pay, and they might reject you at the reception just because, on the very last second.
*I also paid in advance, and they refused to return the money.
UPDATE AFTER HOTEL'S REPLY
It was mentioned to the hotel that my passport was new since I had recently renewed it a few days ago. Therefore, it did not carry a stamped visa YET.
Also,
I flew in from Hà Nội a few days ago with this same passport without an issue.
I was also able to stay at a handful of hotels in Hà Nội after my passport renewal, with this same passport, without an issue.
Most importantly,
I have stayed at probably HUNDREDS of hotels around all of Vietnam for the past 5 years, and never has anyone asked me anything related to my visa status.
Why? Because ALL hotels (except Lanura Saigon Boutique Hotel) will be fine with just a photocopy or a digital copy of your passport. As I have previously provided to at tons of hotels all over Sài Gòn, Hà Nội, Đà Nẵng, Đà Lạt, Nha Trang, Phan Thiết, Cần Thơ, Bến Tre, Huế, Hội An, and many more cities, over my past 5 years here.
Dear tourist, DO NOT LET THIS HOTEL PUSH YOU AROUND OR BULLY YOU OR TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU.
And to you, Lanura Saigon Boutique Hotel, I recommend you to stop using excuses to justify your discrimination or lack of professionalism.
You made a mistake. Learn from it, improve, and move on.
*PS, I literally drove 100 meters that night and was accepted at a hotel right across Lanura Saigon Boutique Hotel (3rd picture).
Ah, and one more thing, Lanura said in their reply that I paid through "Expedia," which is totally false. This just goes to show how little effort or care they have...
Read moreI recently stayed at Lanura Saigon Boutique Hotel and had a pleasant overall experience. Although the hotel is relatively small in size, it offers a well-rounded range of facilities that are thoughtfully provided. The building appears to be somewhat old from the outside, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that the interior of the room was clean, well-maintained, and very comfortable.
The room was equipped with all the essential amenities, including a desk and chair, which made it both functional and cozy. However, the one downside was the mattress, which I found to be a bit too firm for my liking. Still, it was adequate for a short stay, especially for travelers in transit due to its convenient proximity to the airport.
The staff were polite and helpful throughout my stay. That said, I would recommend that the hotel consider offering further English language training to improve communication with international guests. This would certainly enhance the guest experience even more.
Another highlight is the hotel’s location—there are plenty of local food vendors in the area, so finding something to eat is never a problem.
All in all, Lanura Saigon Boutique Hotel is a solid choice for a short stay near the airport. With a few minor improvements, it has the potential to provide an even better...
Read morevery unprofessional hotel staff. Yelling and joking around in the reception like that was their living room. There's no work environment at all. One staff member, a girl working at the reception left her hair curler in her hair. As a foreigner I have never seen anybody like this working at the hotel reception. I also don't get why she's getting her hair done at the reception. Is this normal for vietnam? Hotel room wasn't clean. Dirt Scratches are everywhere on the wall, cups weren't clean, walls aren't noise canceling you can hear the foot steps and people slamming the door outside. Weird unsafe atmosphere. Reception isn't 24/24. As a woman I'd think twice to book there. I was scared that somebody could be breaking in. The hotel is located at the end of the road. I am honestly writing this review to warn and help people who might consider booking this hotel. This isn't even a hotel. It's giving a vibe...
