Khách Sạn Hoàng Tử - Prince Hotel — Hotel in Hue City

My husband and I stayed at this horrible hotel in June 2006 - there were problems from the moment we arrived!||First of all we was told that we would be picked up from the airport free of charge by the hotel taxi, when we arrived the lady on reception (who hardly spoke any English) asked for 20 US$ for the taxi fare - of course we refused as the deal was that the ride was free of charge, after a 5 minute argument they decided to not charge us - may I add that the people on reception were very rude and were talking in Vietnamese and mocking us.||We was then shown to a room I have to say it was clean but the air conditioner was not working and the hotel said that they had cable tv when infact they didnt have - Vietnamese television only which was no good for us!. When we enquired they sent up 3 young guys who were just staring at us and looking really dodgy and checking out what we had in our room and again speaking among themselves in Vietnamese and laughing and playing with this tv set and saying that there was no problem with it - we left the issue as by that time I was tired and could not be bothered.||We was also told that the hotel was in Hue town - infact it was not and was a 15-20 minute taxi ride away which was really annoying as the hotel seemed to be in the middle of nowhere so we couldnt have a wonder about at night or anything, there were no restaurants near by and so we always had to get taxi's into town because the heat outside was a killer.||Hue itself is a beautiful city and well worth seeing but we noticed plenty of budget hotels within the town that looked a lot better than this hell hole we was staying in and were actually cheaper too and in great locations.||Please do not stay at this hotel, owners are rude, very pushy with trying to sell tours, nobody seems to speak English and the location is terrible - right on a highway so...

Rooms were very good. Service was fairly poor with virtually no English spoken. We were only able to get breakfast, in the huge conference area that was rather dirty and obviously not cleaned for some time, after repeated requests. The hotel is some distance from the Perfume river, probably 30 minutes walk. Don't purchase any tours from the hotel - they are a rip-off. For some reason the hotel was almost empty, but the few who were there created a lot of disturbance, running through the coridors, setting off extingishers etc during the night. Phòng 500k mà bé, ok bỏ qua đi, quan trọng là thái độ của bác bảo vệ mình chỉ xin mượn cái tô để ăn thôi mà đến lúc ăn xong hỏi để bát ở đâu thì bị quát đem vô trong kia chứ ở đây nước đâu mà rửa mình mà biết thì đem vô rồi chứ hỏi chi, chắc nhà t nên t biết á, khách ở 3 ngày mà chả thấy ai dọn dẹp, dụng cụ đánh răng 1 lần thì chả đủ dùng cho 3 ngày đến 9h30 tối cũng chưa thấy bổ sung, thái độ lồi lõm với khách hàng, phòng không hề cách âm rất ồn, có nhiều gia đình đi có mấy bạn nhỏ giỡn buổi tối không thể ngủ được nhiều người đi chung thang máy cũng phản ánh y chang 3 ngày...
