This resort is near the Cam Ranh airport and about 35 km from Nha Trang city center. It is far from everything and there are no shopping center and only a few local restaurants nearby so you will need to plan and bring some of your basic needs like shower gel, shampoo since they only supply a limited quantity! I recently exchanged my Marriott timeshare for a week at Alma resort via interval. I have a wheelchair person with me, I informed them via the contact form on their web site to let them know. I never got an answer! I got to the resort at 330pm, there was a long line at checkin already! Once I got to the counter, gave the booking number, she couldn’t find my reservation! After about 45 antagonized minutes in upper 30c reception area with no AC, to let her talked to other people, they finally decided to give me a unit. They don’t even offer us a drink while we waited over an hour there! The units are nice, pretty new and modern but definitely not a luxury equipped like the Vinpearl or Marriott. The resort are nice with 12 , they said, pools cascading down to the beach. The resort are very well kept and flowers are everywhere. It is relaxing and beautiful, offer many corners if you are, like me, looking for serenity and quiet places. For example, You can find a pool and at time just you alone for while. I love it. The beach is one of the most beautiful beach in the world like what you find in Destin, USA or like someone else said like the Caribbean or Sea with turquoise water and white sand beach which are empty most of the time during the day. Imagine a tranquil beach with the noise of the wave and just you and nobody else around! If you have kids, there is a water park with tubes, lazy river and wading pool. They will love it! The only odd thing is their operating hours (10-12 and 14-17) are not kid friendly at all! Also, there are extra charge for renting the tube, why don’t they just include it? I exchanged my timeshare, so I was considering as “owners” and many restrictions come with it. For example, I can’t get a beach tower at the pool because only paying guests can get ones! I and my wife both had a feeling that since we , be nice to them, spoke to them in Vietnamese! Once I switched to English and confronted them , only then we got services. The beach is beautiful but it is hard to find a hut with cushions at the north end of the beach since they don’t put them. If you enter the water far away from the lifeguards you will get a whistle! They will tell you to swim in front of tower, no reason was given. There are a few options and restaurants to eat, their foods are decent and expensive by Vietnamese standards but same as in the US. The Atlantis serves seafood and the foods are pretty good and a bit more expensive. We picked a grouper hot pot and frankly speaking it was not that great for the price they charged. Le Casa serves Italian foods with an all you can eat buffet for about 17 Usd is a much better option, their pizza is decent and pasta options are good. The food court opened from 11am to 4pm offered some options for lunch. Beware of the fried chicken, a piece is not the standard piece like at KFC; it is rather a smaller piece cut from different parts of the chicken so the meats are somewhat dry and not juicy. Overall, if you are a paying guests with or without kids, this a great resort. For timeshare exchange, don’t expect the same level of services at your Hilton or Marriott. I would say the room is probably at the same level as Holiday inn vacation club. I wouldn’t recommend to exchange your timeshare for this resort. For me, we still have a great time since we didn’t let the 2 star level and rude services ruined our vacation. This resort is also not wheelchair or stroller friendly; no access ramps through out the resort, there are many stairs cascading to the beach, unless your love ones can stand up and walk the stairs it is just impossible to walk down through the pools to the beach, restaurants! There is also a Marriott resort on the island in Nha Trang, that will be our...
Read moreDon't sleep on the Alma Resort Cam Ranh! My wife and I decided to come here for our 5 year wedding anniversary and birthday trip, towards the tail end of our Thailand and Vietnam travels! We can thoroughly say that we saved the best for last! From a great room upgrade, to discounts, great food, tasty beverages, wonderful views and great amenities, service and staff!||Starting with food and beverages, we highly recommend the Alma Lounge if you don't have kids and don't mind a bit of heat with fans to cool you down. There is generally a low to no wait and can sit wherever you want because most people go to the Alma Garden for the breakfast buffet.||For lunch we preferred the food court, as there are 6 different stations to choose from with different offerings from each. We loved the Vietnamese food, as well as the mango yoghurt and mango smoothies from the espresso bar, we also recommend enjoying some tasty French offerings from the French Bakery! Croissants anyone! You could also go to the Alma Garden for a buffet lunch offering!||For dinner we have opted for the featured buffets most nights at the Alma Garden! We have thoroughly enjoyed the tasty offerings most nights, as there is something for everyone! We did try Atlantis but found it to be a little lacking but still delicious!||On the service side of things, we have been treated with only the utmost respect! Staff who frequently waited on us daily started to know our orders and what we liked and didn't like, they would talk with us and share some of their recommendations with us, if we had questions just about everyone would either offer to help or get us in touch with someone who could further assist. The maids and cleaning crew were top notch and the staff that drive the buggies are always on time, just be vigilant and aware that some times throughout the days are busier than others so we opted to walk short distances and ride if where we wanted to go was too far out!||Definitely try to hit up the beach for an early morning sunrise before the heat comes! Once the sun is up it gets hot real quick so don't forget your sunblock!!!||The location is beautiful, if you can opt for a pool villa it will not disappoint as many of the pools close around 6pm, with the closest pool to the lobby closing around 7 or 8pm, so you could cool down at your own private pool. We did have a small ant problem but they were able to quickly address it so that we could go about enjoying our vacation!||Almost forgot to mention that the spa and treatments are wonderful and that the gym is a great size with a great yoga offering with an Indian Yoga Master!||Last but not least, you should pick an evening to go and see the Alma Show! It definitely won't disappoint! It has a little something for everyone and is a great way to see a bit of Vietnamese culture!||Thank you to each person that has made our stay safe, enjoyable, fun and relaxing! We definitely look forward to...
