Read moreI stayed here with my child for 18 nights in July 2025, and while the property has potential, it fell far short of its claim to be a five-star resort.
Let me start with the positives. The rooms are large, modern and comfortable, with good bathrooms. The gardens are well maintained and the resort feels spacious. There is a nice private beach with a free buggy service to take you there, a decent swimming pool, and an excellent daily laundry service. The free shuttle to the city centre (twice a day) is convenient if you book in advance, and housekeeping kept our room clean and tidy throughout.
Unfortunately, the negatives outweighed the positives. Breakfast was extremely repetitive every day, with the same limited options. Food regularly ran out and we had to wait for refills — this happened almost daily. Staff service was inconsistent. Only the reception team spoke enough English to communicate; other staff did not speak a single word, which made simple requests very difficult. Worse, when you ask reception for something they do not like, the standard response is “Calm down sir, calm down madam,” which feels dismissive rather than helpful. The restaurant’s lady manager was consistently rude and gave the impression she did not understand hospitality service at all.
The biggest disappointment came at checkout at 3am, when we requested a buggy to collect our luggage from the garden bungalow (there is no lift access). The buggy attendant, Loc, initially refused to take our bags, despite being told that I have back issues and was travelling with a minor. He eventually took only the smallest bags, leaving us to carry the heaviest ones ourselves. After several calls to reception he reluctantly returned, but dragged our large suitcases down the stairs instead of carrying them, which caused significant wheel damage to both. This made them impossible to roll, creating a huge inconvenience for us at the airport.
I wrote to the General Manager and senior management about this incident, explaining what happened and asking them to take responsibility and confirm what action they would take. Eight weeks later, I have still not received any reply, which is unacceptable for a resort claiming five-star status.
Other drawbacks include the lack of air conditioning in the lobby, making it uncomfortably hot during the day, and the general lack of service polish you would expect from a resort at this level.
In summary, this is a resort with nice rooms, a good beach and a pleasant setting, but it does not deliver a five-star experience. Service needs major improvement, management follow-through is missing, and guest issues are not taken seriously. I would rate this as 3 to 3.5 stars at best, and unfortunately I can only give it 2 stars overall because of the unprofessional checkout incident and lack of...
