We couldn’t believe that we found this gem of a resort on the east side of the island with food of an exceptional high quality - better than the five-star resort that we were staying at previously. ||Jade Mountain Resort has the most panoramic and romantic restaurant on the entire island with a breath-taking sea view and a rain forest directly behind. It also has a stunning infinity pool with the backdrop of the sea.|The six villas in the resort are beautiful and you will not get this sort of privacy and tranquility anywhere else on the island.||The owners of the resort Christian and Trang are the perfect hosts. They both have great energy and are super passionate about the resort and have paid utmost attention to every detail. ||Trang is an exceptional chef and with her team cater for any dietary need and is able to cook extra healthy food options that are not on the menu - you only need to ask and she will whip up a delicious healthy meal. The pork schnitzel was exceptional as was the superfood salad and the fresh juice-based drinks were the best we had on the island. ||It is well worth taking a trip away from the highly touristic and overpopulated west side of the island just to come to this resort and experience this romantic, idyllic and peaceful haven within a rainforest with a memorable sea view that is less than a minute from the beach. I would recommend taking your suitcase with you too as after spending an hour or two dining or just for drinks at Jade Mountain resort you will not want to go back to the other side of the island even if you are staying in the best...
Read moreI stayed here for a little over 2 weeks with my wife and dog and everything was great. The couple running it (Trang and Christian) and staff are super friendly and hospitable, super helpful. Our bungalow was in good condition and comfortable. The pool area was clean and nice to use, and while the resort doesn't have it's own beach access, we were allowed to use the beach at a nearby resort where the water was clean and calm. Overall the vibe is super chill, quiet, and relaxed there
Do be aware that the resort is fairly far from most things on the island (30-40 minutes from the main town area on the island where most tourists go, 15 minutes from a local town area with a market and some shops) but if you want a chill getaway more in nature it's a fantastic location. They put us in touch with a reliable motorbike rental place, who dropped it off at the resort for us, and they had a taxi driver we could text to pick us up whenever we needed a ride. The restaurant at the resort is fantastic (mostly western dishes with some Asian ones), and nearby are some local stores with basics, across the street is a great beach/sports bar and restaurant called Rory's, there are some local seafood places along the coast, and decent amount of other resorts with bar/restaurants too...
Read moreSo apparently the hotel had a last minute change of ownership. The new owners didn’t know about our arrival till the day before and so I don’t think they were planning on hosting anyone? We were the only guests at the hotel. The bungalows are advertised and clean and lovely. However the restaurant was not open and there was no food or drink options. You are staying on a more remote part of the island and if you don’t have a scooter, you will have no options for food/drink other than a restaurant on the main road(Rory’s). Also, no one came and replenished our towels or took out our trash. It’s a lovely property and hopefully they’re able to get things up and...
